"Those two were quite peculiar, have you worked with them before? they seemed to know you," I asked as I sat comfortably on top of a coffin.

"Yes, they've come around a few times while you were out on business.." He responded through giggles, "they're quite a funny pair, aren't they?"

"Yes, they are quite entertaining, and that taller man, he was certainly entertaining to look at," I said trailing off slightly and mumbling the last part.

The Undertaker, having heard what I said, started rolling on the floor in laughter. I just looked at him with the most blank expression on my face, 'I guess he doesn't realize that I was serious' at that thought I started to chuckle slightly. "Well, speak of the devil," I say still chuckling slightly as Sebastian walks in.

"I am no devil, just one hell of a butler," he says in response with a smile and closed eyes. (I had to do it.)

At this, The Undertaker laughs even more, practically wheezing, I don't even know how he's still breathing, if he even needs to breathe, and I know for sure he has abs from how often he does this, "honestly what am I to do with you?" I ask him as I help him up, the both of us still laughing.

"Oh dear, I do wonder how you manage to stand him," Sebastian said.

"I've been stuck with him for a while, we get along well though, he's a good friend," I said looking at The Undertaker with a soft, genuine smile, then with a sigh I asked, "so what do you want? I don't believe you came back simply to chat.."

"Sadly, you are quite right, I have not come simply to chat, but rather to bring you to my master's manor on his order. You have been invited to assist Ciel Phantomhive, also known as The Queen's Guard Dog, with his most current case of interest. You will be provided a room to sleep in for as long as the case is being investigated, I do advise that you gather your belongings before we leave for the manor," he replies as I stand there, just looking at him.

"Alright, I suppose I will be taking my leave then, dear Undertaker, I will visit you later, I have a meeting with The Queen's Guard Dog to attend to," I then gather my belongings from the back of the shop as I had practically moved into the shop by now, and make my way out the door towards the coach that so patiently awaits me. When I get there, Sebastian opens the door for me and I climb inside, placing my belongings down as I thank him.

He then sits inside the carriage with me. We ride together in a strangely nice silence, until he breaks it, that is. "(Y/n), what kind of experience do you have that enables you to identify what happened to that victim?"

"I've seen the same type of victim around before, I even witnessed one happen, long ago, and I thought the killer had been dealt with, but I suppose they haven't been done away with yet, or they have a copycat or a disciple of some sort that has come to avenge them," I said, looking out the window at the passing trees.

"Hmm, I see," Sebastian says as he looks at the floor with his hand on his chin, seemingly thinking about something.

The rest of the ride was fairly quiet. He seemed to be lost in his own thought, I would glance at him at times to find such a lost look in his eyes. His beautiful eyes. He looked almost sad, yet content, but most of all he looked lost. Like he hasn't been found in a long time, and had given up on being found. Like he was okay with being lost, it made me sad. I hope someone finds him. I barely know him but I can't help but feel bad, like I can sympathize, like he reminds me of myself, in a way.

We soon arrived at the manor and Sebastian offered his hand to help me out of the carriage, which I didn't take because I can help myself. He gave me a look that I couldn't decipher, so I stuck my tongue out at him. He seemingly ignored it and moved ahead to open the door for me.

Inside was a beautiful manor, something so welcoming yet so cold. (Why is everything about this child and demon so contradicting in the best and most complimentary way possible? Even Ciel and Sebastian are opposites, and yet they work so well together.) "So, what's on the schedule, isn't everything always scheduled in the upper class?" I asked as I looked around the room.

"Yes, all of my master's events are scheduled, dinner will be served shortly, do please follow me so that I might settle you in the room that you will be staying in," he said as he began to lead me up the stairs to the guest room that I assume had been prepared for me.

We eventually come to the room, to which he opens the door and shows me in. It was a fairly neutral room that was well decorated and matched the color theme of the rest of the mansion. The bed was nice and soft, with clean, perfectly done sheets. They didn't stay nicely done for long though.

I immediately lie down on the bed in the most violent way possible without messing up the actual bed itself, and lay for a minute, before getting up to change into something more befitting to a meeting with the Young Earl. I took off my jeans, hoodie, and shoes. I then dawned on a nicer pair of black dress pants and one of my favorite button-ups, then I cover up my brightly colored socks with a pair of black platform boots, tucking my pants into them and rolling my sleeve cuffs.

A short while later, a knock came to the door, it was soft, but loud enough to catch my attention. Following it was a more feminine sounding voice, and it called out to me, "Mr. (Y/n), supper is ready, are you prepared to see the Young Earl?"

"Yes I am, thank you, I'll be right out," I said as I made my way to the door, opening it, "Hello, I am (Y/n), and, can you drop the 'mister?' I'm not any more important than you are. Now, might I know what your name is?" I asked, using my fancy dialect, as I stood with my hands in my pockets, looking down at her politely.

"Oh, uh, the name's Meyrin, thank you for asking. I'll show you where the dining room is, if you'll just follow me," she replied with a smile and a soft expression, after seemingly being surprised that I cared to ask her name.

As I followed Meyrin I looked around the halls, trying to remember what went where so that I would not need to be escorted everywhere. I don't want to have to depend on everyone else to navigate this place. If I get lost, one of the staff members here will have to take the time to go out of their way just to help me.

They call them servants instead of staff, but that feels like a form of disrespect, like they're calling them of a lower worth than the high and mighty earls or counts or whatever they call themselves.
I don't quite like that.

<< Sorry for taking my sweet ass time on this.>>
