"Don't step on the plants!" Finny stressed.
"I'm not gonna step on ya stupid plants!" Bard whispered.
"SHH!!" Mey-Rin hushed and Snake nodded.
The back door opened and the Earl of Phantomhive entered the back garden. He had a sour look on his face as usual.
"Good Morning, sir," Sebastian greeted. He was standing by the table. "You're later then I would have expected, I was afraid you'd lost your appetite and I had to waste all this food."
"Don't be so dramatic. You could've given it to the servants to eat," Ciel grumbled.
Sebastian simply smiled and began to pour Ciel his tea. Bard shuffled uncomfortably in the bush. Finny held him upright so he'd remain balance and not cause them to be caught. They waited and waited, Sebastian and Ciel didn't do anything or say a word to each other. Ciel just continued to eat his breakfast, drink his tea and read the morning new paper.
"Sebastian, what is my schedule for today, you failed to inform me of it this morning," Ciel said after putting his now empty teacup down.
"Your day is free, sir," the butler bowed respectfully. "I apologise for forgetting earlier."
"A free day? How boring..."
"Indeed,"
"In that case, I wish to go into town. Have a carriage ready, later," the young earl demanded.
"Of course my lord," Sebastian said, bowing again.
"Oh, and Sebastian, one more thing..." Ciel curled a finger.
Deep in the garden, Finny was trembling. He didn't want what Mey-Rin saw to be true, not the young master... He couldn't control his trembling. Bard pat him on the back gently trying to calm him down in the only way possible the cramped space. The servants watched Sebastian bow and Ciel curl his finger, beckoning him forward.
"This is how it happened last time!" Mey-Rin whispered, shaking poor Snake, blood licking from one nostril.
"Tell the servants to get out of the garden... they'll damage the plants," Ciel said.
Mey-Rin, Finnian, Bard and Snake froze. How was it that Ciel knew they we're there? Had they done something to get caught? Perhaps they weren't as quiet as they thought....
"You heard the young master! It's time to end your silly game of hide-and-seek!" Sebastian called just loud enough for them to hear him.
The four servants had no choice. They all, with great struggle, climbed out of the garden bed. Finny pit up a fuss when it came Bardroy's turn to climb form the hiding place. Though with help from Snake and Mey-Rin, Finnian's plants were unhurt, not a single leaf or stem punctured of torn. Ciel and Sebastian calmly awaited the four to prober themselves, when they did Ciel began to speak.
"Explain yourselves," he drawled in a bored voice. "And do make it quick, you've wasted enough of my time already."
"We're so sorry, Master Ciel!" Finny burst out. "We didn't mean to spy on you! Please forgive us! We're sorry!"
"Oh, please don't blame them Master Ciel!" Mey-Rin began. "They're only here because of me, they are! I should have kept my mouth shut!"
"What do you mean? What are you talking about?" Ciel asked.
"Mey-Rin says she say you and Sebastian last night!" Bard spoke up. "So we came here to see if it was true or not."
"May I ask what you saw exactly, Mey-Rin?" Sebastian asked the clumsy maid.
"You and the master kiss last night!"
Ciel and Sebastian stayed where they were, dumbfounded. The servants stayed quiet, Finny, Bard and Mey-Rin staring at the earl and butler, Snake's attention was else were. His eye's following a small green butterfly. After a short, silent moment, Ciel began to laugh. He laughed as though he'd been told the most amusing joke, his sudden laughter left the servants worried.
"Oh!" He gasped gripping his sides.
"My Young Lord! Are you alright, sir?" Sebastian asked as Ciel began to clam.
"That was quit amusing! How foolish of you to think I'd do such a disgusting thing!" Ciel exclaimed. "I mean, me the Earl of Phantomhive! Don't be ridiculous!"
"But I saw it happen, I did!" Mey-Rin said. "In the study! I had just finished my cleaning and stumbled upon the scene! I know I shouldn't have been meddling in the Master's privet matters but I was so shocked I couldn't move!"
"Forgive me, Mey-Rin. But my I just say that my master had already retired for the evening. You see, the asthma attack that Master had had that day left him feeling rather we- I mean, tired." Sebastian explained. "He retired early. I, on the other hand, went down to the office to finish of the work I had to put aside. Are you sure what you say you saw was real and not a something of your own imagination? After all you had been overworking yourself... I'm not the kind of man to lay hands on a young boy like that, especially not a respected noble such as a Phantomhive."
"Oh..." Mey-Rin said.
"Now that I think about it that does make more sense," Finny muttered.
"Maybe you should gather more evidence before you go accusing somebody... remember that next time," Ciel took a sip of tea.
"We're sorry, Young Master!" the servants bowed.
"Well... now that this little misunderstanding is over, get to work. You've wasted enough time hiding in the garden." Sebastian clapped his hands together.
"YESSIR!!"
Without another word the servants followed one another inside.
"I told you Sebastian wasn't that kind of man!" Bard told Mey-Rin. "I can't believe I believed you!"
The door closed with a sharp snap, Ciel signed and put down his cup. He turned to scowl at the butler in black.
"How could you leave the door open like that? Moron!" he snapped.
"Forgive me, master," Sebastian bowed.
"You're the servants are idiots. Go get the carriage..."
"Yes... Ciel..."
