A year later-
Senior year came and both the girls were celebrating the new years together over at Minjeong's house. Today was the day Minjeong came out to her parents. All she hoped was that her parents accepted her for who she is and what she wants. The only thing was, Jimin didn't know that she was going to come out.
Jimin's parents are usually chill and calm about anything, but Minjeong seems to be tense and nervous whenever she interacts with her parents. It wasn't Jimin's first time over at Minjeong's house and she had seen it all, the younger girl's parents were strict, over protective, always trying to make their point, and just by watching the three talk, it already felt overwhelming to Jimin.
Shortly after, Jimin appeared at the younger girl's door step, but she was so nervous she couldn't ring or knock on the door, afraid that one of Minjeong's parents might answer the door.
Minjeong's glad it was only her parents she'll be coming out to. It would've been so chaotic to come out to a whole entire family, plus they'd probably cause a huge mess after she confessed.
Jimin mustered up the courage to knock on the door.
Raising a kid in a strict family creates a sneaky kid and that's exactly what Minjeong is. Her parents don't know, but she has been sneaking out on the weekends to Jimin's house to hangout with her during the day when Minjeong told her parents that she'd be out "working." At least she's not out clubbing or at a dumb party, Minjeong hates going to parties.
The door opens and Minjeong's Father opens the door. As soon as Jimin saw the younger girl's father, her mood sank to the ground. She didn't like her girlfriend's father, he never liked her either because of his suspicions towards Jimin. It's like he knew there was something between both of the girls, and he's just watching, quietly judging from afar.
"Hello Mr. Kim, Happy New Year's Eve." Jimin's tone was polite, conservative, but moreover she was nervous about tonight.
"Happy New Year's Eve, Jimin." The father responded back with a tense smile. That smile looked fake, which made her even more nervous. "Come in." He said with a straight face.
Jimin walked in and greeted Minjeong's mother who was in the kitchen cooking. Jimin felt a little at ease with Minjeong's mother but she still felt tense and awkward whenever she had a conversation with her.
The older girl headed to the living room, sitting on their couch that Jimin really liked because of how soft it was. Minjeong lives in a pretty big house and it was very clean and organized so Jimin was always scared of messing things up.
Scrolling on her phone, two hands covered her eyes and she knew right away it was Minjeong.
"Guess wh-"
"Minjeong, I know it's you." Jimin chuckled, turning around to see the younger girl in a different hair color. She was surprised by the sudden change.
"Whoa, your hair.." Jimin awed, she was stunned by how pretty the blonde color looked on the younger girl. Then she frowned.
"But I really liked your natural black hair." Jimin pouted, it put a grin on Minjeong's face.
"It's alright Rina, it's temporary." Minjeong explained, as she stroked the older girl's silky straight hair.

11:40 amAll four were sat down in the huge bright dining table eating the delicious meal Mrs. Kim cooked and the mash potatoes Minjeong made. It was a quiet dinner, and Jimin learned that the Kim family doesn't watch the ball drop. 10 minutes before it hit new years, Minjeong looked at Jimin, who sat beside her giving her a reassuring look. Jimin was confused.
"Mom, Dad?" Minjeong confidently said.
"Yes, Minjeong?" Her mother responded.
Minjeong grabbed Jimin's hand standing up, her face looked determined and ready to confess.
"This girl next to me is not my friend." Minjeong declared, raising the older girl's hand up.
"She's my girlfriend."
"The love of my life." The younger girl added.
Jimin stared at Minjeong, her heart was racing and her breathing slightly intensified. She felt like crying for some reason.
"And.." Minjeong sighs.
"I want to spend my whole life with her." Minjeong turned to Jimin, her eyes were glistening with an easy smile spread across her face.
"Minjeong, if that's what you want then go ahead." Minjeong's Father said.
"But that means you need to leave this house." He added.
Jimin's face was stunned, worried as she grabbed onto Minjeong's arms.
"Why do I need to leave the house?" The girl asked, she didn't know if her dad was being supportive or not.
"If you want to spend your whole life with her, you need to start a future with her." Minjeong's mom added.
"If you can't do that, don't even think of loving her for the rest of your life." Her father said.
Jimin found it offensive and she wanted to yell at Minjeong's parents but if she did she would have regretted it afterwards.
However Minjeong thought their consequences were ridiculous. Why should she be kicked out of her own house for loving someone that she wants to spend time with for the rest of her life?
She got mad, but she didn't want to argue with them, instead she grabbed Jimin, and stormed out of the house.
"Happy New years, we're leaving." And she slammed the door, walking towards her car.
She let Jimin in and she proceeded to get into the driver's side, starting the car up.
"Minjeong, where are we going?" The older girl was worried, she wasn't sure if what Minjeong did was alright or not, but she wasn't scared.
"Somewhere we can be together." Minjeong seemed pissed, slamming in the gas pedal.
"Minjeong, if we have to live together then I'll do that."
The younger girl slammed on the breaks, pulling her car over to the side.
Jimin really meant it, she would move out after graduating just to live with Minjeong if she had to.
"Babe, I don't want to make your life miserable."
"Minjeong you won't make my life miserable. We're seniors, by the time we're out of school we can find somewhere to live together."
She wasn't sure if her idea was something Minjeong wanted to do but surprisingly she went with the idea.
"Ok."
Jimin could feel the pain Minjeong was going through. Seeing Minjeong drained also made Jimin feel drained. Being kicked out of her own house for loving someone. It wasn't fair, it was ridiculous.
"You can be with me for the meantime." Jimin suggested. She truly meant it, after all her parents already knew she was dating Minjeong.
"Really?" The younger girl's eyes were lit in the snowy, new year's night. Jimin tucked strands of Minjeong's fresh blonde hair behind her ear, gazing into her loving eyes.
Minjeong reached over to the passenger seat pressing her lips against Jimin's. The kiss made her body feel weak, she felt like giving out for a good reason. She felt like the light pole shining above Minjeong's car dimmed, they couldn't hear the new year fireworks going off but the shiny bright colors flashed through.
She loves Minjeong and she'll never let her go. Neither would Minjeong.
Minjeong's tone seemed to softened, gazing into the older girl's beautiful eyes
"I love you."
