HAPPY HOLI TO MANSII know what's in your mind!
My name is Mansi, and i was just singing a song in Indian.
"Happy holi Mansi. I heard your amazing voice from downstairs." My aunt kissed my forehead
and applied some red color from her tray.
I loved when color was being applied on my soft cheeks.
"Ok aunt, so when is the party going to start?" I asked her.
"soon" she said as she left my room. I opened my wardrobe and took out a white saree.
I was so excited for the Holi celebrations. I ran downstairs in my saree and suddenly, a bucket of colors flew right in my face.
HUH!
I picked the letter in it and it said:
Mujhe tumase pyaar hai
How could someone sensible write to me, he loves me? Only Veer must have done this.
He was the landlord's son, and he has been after me since i was just 5. I ate my breakfast and as i heard drums, i rushed outside.
The holi celebrations had begun! I started dancing with everyone else as color was being sprayed everywhere. The party was so much fun. I drank bhang and got so intoxicated, i fainted during the party. I woke up on my bed where Aunt Revati was patting me.
"Am sorry aunt....
"Shhhh....HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO DRINK BHANG YOU JUST DONT GET THE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL THAT CONTAINS! WHY DO YOU DISOBEY ME?! THANK GOD YOU'RE GOING TO AMERICA TOMORROW! YOU'LL LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS AND GIVE ME A BREATHING SPACE!" she was so angry.
"America?? What's that?" I asked her.
"Its the country your dad lives." She said.
"Why am i going there? Is Holi celebrated there?' I questioned.
"NO!! NOW ENOUGH OF HOLI STUFF!" she yelled.
"Aunt revati, please dont let me go" I begged but she turned her head and folded her arms. I slowly took a tray of blue color beside me and threw it on her.
"HAPPY HOLI!!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed and ran off to celebrate.
I returned back inside after the celebrations. I thought about going to America. I slept off near the bed.
I woke up with a yawn! I was in a moving bus.
"WHAT...AUNT! UNCLE! DRIVER STOP!!!!! I DONT KNOW WHERE AM GOING!" I Screamed as the bus sped.
"The driver cant hear you." Aunt Revati said and i was trembling.
"Whats...Whats going on?" I was tensed.
"You're going to Ame...." As the door opened for a passenger to come out, i pushed her aside and ran away. Aunt and uncle quickly paid the driver, got down and were chasing me.
"MANSI!!"
"MANSI! COME BACK YOU BRAT!" But i was already ahead of them. I wasn't quick to see a mud puddle and i instantly fell in.They got me!
"You think you can run so fast uhn" Uncle Jai hissed. They were pulling me and i was pushing back.
"Let me go!!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled as Aunt Revati slapped my senses and i started to cry. I allowed them take me to the airport where they washed me in a stupid running tap and took me in.
The plane took off and i was staring like a lifeless statue. Aunt Revati tried to make me laugh and shake but i was still. Tears were running down my cheeks. I was finally being separated from dear India, the country of colors!
I got to the country. And i adored their flag decorated with stars
I was starting to love this country!
I started at the tall buildings, handsome guys and girls.
"Name yourself" Aunt Revati whispered.
"Hailey" I loved the name because i saw it in a fashion magazine. We walked for ages and soon, Uncle Jai knocked the door of a luxurious mansion.
A tall man opened the door. He smiled at us and suddenly started shaking hands with Uncle.
"This is Hailey. Your daughter" i was taken aback. I scratched my head and thought again. NO!
THE DAUGHTER OF A MULTI MILLIONAIRE!
THIS WAS PARADISE!
THANK YOU GODDESS!i knelt down and started chanting. The man was smiling at me.
