"This is it...this is your day, man... You got this."

A young blonde-haired boy mutters to himself as he sits in his room, in bed, hoping to himself that he earned a letter which he hopes reads the following:

'Denki Kaminari, congratulations, you've been accepted into U.A.!'

A week ago, the young boy went through the entrance exam, the final exam in which students will be chosen based on their skills during the exam. He starts smiling, imagining the friends he'll make, there, the training, everything he's hoping will come true. The imagination feels so real, very real in fact that he's smiling brightly in his room.

The knocks on his bedroom door interrupt him, his imagination vanishes as he stands to answer it to see his parents there with suitcases in their hands. His parents are business workers who travel a lot, this was no surprise.

Kaminari: "Mom? Dad? Where are you going this time?"

Mrs Kaminari: "We have to go North, kid. Hokkaido. We'll be back in a while. I think 2 months. Be good now, ok?"

Kaminari: "Haha, sure, Mom."

Mr Kaminari: "Good. Alright, see you soon, sparkplug. And let's hope you get accepted into U.A. alright?"

He pats his son's head, earning a smile from the Pikachu. His mother leans down to kiss his forehead as they both walk away from him, making their way to the front door.

Mr Kaminari: "See you later in 2 months! Take care."

Kaminari: "See ya!"

The door closes and Kaminari waits back in his room, patiently for the envelope to arrive any second now. He lays in bed, looking up at the ceiling, imagining the life he'd live as a hero and as a student at U.A.

Minutes and hours passed, and the letter hasn't arrived yet. Kaminari checks the time on his phone, seeing that it's now 12:30 at noon. His stomach grumbles, which has him now moving down the stairs to grab a snack and watch the TV; he doesn't have to be in his bedroom, he can do whatever he wants around the house to pass the time.

Now in his living room, Kaminari's sitting down on the couch, watching the TV, scrolling through news outlets and random channels to try and at least find a piece of entertainment on the big screen.

Kaminari: "No."

Kaminari sighs, tossing the remote to the side of the couch and decides to use his phone and watch YouTube videos to try and lighten up the boring environment. The young electric boy munches down on a handful of cheeseballs from his bowl while watching a video by Markiplier.

5 minutes pass, his bowl's now empty; Kaminari's now slightly falling asleep, still clutching the bowl as if it was filled with expensive popcorn that he isn't willing to spill. He then rubs his eyes, unintentionally with his crumb-stained hands.

He yelps, feeling some of them in his eyes. Placing the empty bowl on the table, he stands sighing as he makes his way to the kitchen sink to wash his hands and his face to get the crumbs out his eyes.

After doing so, he lies on the couch, letting out a sigh. Still waiting patiently.

The sun outside begins setting as the time reaches to 18:00. Kaminari's now walking out of the bathroom, hair combed back with a clip used to keep it there. The young man looks at the clock on the wall, seeing the time.

Kaminari: "Any time now..."

He makes his way to the living room, still waiting for his acceptance letter. The Pikachu sits on the couch, checking his phone to read random articles as he's growing bored, waiting. Scrolling through the highlights, he tries finding something interesting or hero related as many of these articles are rather...boring to him.

Kaminari: "There's gotta be some hero stuff here... Maybe something about that new hot one, Mount Lady."

He keeps scrolling, finding one Mount Lady article only to learn that he's read it before. He sighs, growing bored before hearing footsteps approaching his front door and he sees a letter being pushed through the hole.

Kaminari: "Oh! Here we go!"

A bright smile spawns on his face, sparking him to jump off the couch in a flash and sprints to the door, picking up the letter to look at what it says. Upon opening it, his smile fades as he reads the following that's presented.

'Dear, Denki Kaminari, we regret to inform you that you are not eligible to participate in U.A.. Having been seen with low points in the entrance exam, we're sorry. Better luck next time.'

Kaminari: "What...? Is this an early April Fools joke? I...that's...no..."

He drops the letter, tears filling his eyes and sadness overcoming him. He lets out some breaths before falling onto his knees near his front door and sobbing softly, his dreams crushed and his thoughts from earlier now meaningless.

He holds his mouth, not wanting to scream and wail so his neighbours can't hear him. He leans against the door, resting on it as he sobs softly in his home...

All that studying, all that hard work for the entrance exam... It's nothing now...worthless. All for nothing. All for a slap in the face to show him that he can't be accepted into the school he hoped would help him be a hero.

"What do I do now?"
