Three weeks passed. And still no word from Charity or her step father. I spent most of my time with Mrs.T. If I wasn't driving around looking for my baby sister, I was sitting home with Mrs.T. We kept each other company. I pretty much moved her in with me so she wouldn't be alone. It was all over the news about the search for
It was a Saturday Morning when we got the news. I dropped & shattered the two plates of grits, sausage, eggs, & pancakes I was holding as I watched the words the Detective said form in the air.
"We found Charity's remains...." The words spun around my head & I became dizzy, and then nauseous, and then short of breath. The room grew cold & flashes of black & white was all I remember seeing.
We. Found. Charity's. Remains.
REEEMAINSSSSS! The words rung in the air. "Ma'am... we're so sorry. We need you to come to the station to ID the body.""Jaz, baby come along. You shouldn't be alone."
"Yes ma'am Ms.Valerie." The ride to the station was the longest, most silent car ride ever.We made it to the morgue earlier than expected or there must have been a miscommunication. Her body was on the table uncovered. He mutilated her. The detective motioned for them to cover her body but it was to late we had seen what that sick bastard had done to her.
"What did he do to her?" Ms.T asked, emotionless.
"Ma'am your daughter was 3 1/2 months pregnant. He cut the baby out of her."
"You find that dirty son of a bitch that did this to my baby sister before I do." I rushed outside, I had to throw up. I had every emotion possible hitting me like a whirlwind. I text Mark on the way to the station & he was standing outside. Devastated. He ran to me before I could hit the ground. I was hysterical. I could barely breathe. "My water, my water broke!" I managed between sobs & gasping for air. Mark picked me up & carried me to the car. With a police escort made it to the hospital in five minutes. He stopped the car & and carried me inside. Call my parents, & my pastor, & Ms.Hall, & my sister, & my best friends. But I only want you and my mom in the delivery room. The nurses rushed me into to delivery & got me hooked up to an IV.
"Your doctor will be here In five minutes." One of the nurses said.
"Where's my mom?" I started crying. "This Hurts!"
"I'm right here, & Mark is here, too Princess. We are not going to leave your side. Just hold my hand. Okay." She was rubbing my head & trying to calm me down. I was loosing grip of everything. My breaths go shorter, the room started spinning, my chest tightened. I could hear the commotion heighten & Michelle became hysterical. "What's wrong with my baby? Some one help her!"
"Jazzzzzz, wake up sweetheart! Please don't do this!" I heard Mark crying. I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe. They were shocking me, & machines were beeping, & I felt them pull Michelle away from me .........
