Shut up shut up.*beep beep*
Let me live. Let me sleep maybe.
*beep beep*
Why now? Why at...
7:30 AM. Oh shit shit shit I'm late. I'M FUCKING LATE."MAAAAAAA!" How did she manage to not wake me up in time, like she's literally always on my case in the mornings.
Suprisingly, she overslept as well. Maybe the new job is making her just as anxious as I am for my first day at Saintefair High.
I jump out of bed and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face as quickly as possible.
Ughh. "Out of all days Mavis, out of all the days you chose to over sleep, why? Why today?!" I was highly irritated with myself at this point that it almost made me forget how nervous I was for the day.
The girls have to wear this pleated black skirt with a white shirt and this striped black tie. Honestly, this school couldn't be more lavish than it already is.
Mom and I rush to get done and finally get in the car and start driving to school.
"You know Mave, I know this is probably the last thing you expected to hear especially on your first day of school but I've been thinking..." This must be pretty serious if she's hesitating to tell me..
"And..?" Now I really want to know.
"I was thinking it would be good if Marcus comes to live with us again."
I was too stunned to even speak.
Marcus Matthews was my older brother. When my Mom and Dad split and left us, Marcus stayed for a while but decided he needed to be by himself and visit Dad and his new family. Marcus and I talked on the phone alot but because we didn't see each other we grew apart in a way. I missed him, so so much, and words can't explain how happy I was deep down to hear Mom say that.
I got lost in the thought of having my brother back with us that I didn't even realise we were at school.
"We'll talk about this when you get home okay love? I know it's sudden. Stay focusd today and try and have a good day sweetheart. You got this." I know Mom was hesitant to tell me this. He's my older brother, of course I want him back. But that's a discussion for later.
"I got this. I'll be just fine. I'll message you if anything happens." And just like that she was off and I was running to homeroom which I was late for.
Room G09. G09. Where the fuck is G09. Oh no no no. Not on the first day Mavis. This is why you needed to wake up earlier. Stupid. This is ridiculous. I don't even know where I'm going. What's the time? Shit it's already 8:05. Now I'm going to get a -
"Watch where you're going."
Shit. I wasn't watching where I was going. I bumped right into this boy.
"I'm so sorry. I got here late and I have no idea where G09 is." I rambled on until I finally looked at the boy I bumped into.
It was the one with the pretty green eyes.
...
I don't think I stopped staring at him since I looked up into his pretty green eyes.
Why the fuck does this boy look so familiar? I definitely know his face and I most certainly know those eyes.
"Uhm Mavis? You're staring." His voice sounded deep and compelling. Pulled out of my thoughts, I got myself together and snapped out of this stupid trance this boy had over me. This usually never happens to me with anyone, even good looking-
Wait. Hold on a second. Did he say 'Mavis' ?
"How do you know my name?" I asked with confusion in my voice. I literally moved here not so long ago and I haven't even been out much, nor have I seen him anywhere. Trust me if I have i would've remembered.
"I don't think that's really important now love. You're extremely late for homeroom which is about to end in about 5 minutes, so I suggest you come with me to get a late slip before you give off the wrong impression. You clearly have no idea how things in this school works yet." Mystery boy sounds so amused. Great. I don't know whether or not to feel grateful for his help or to feel irritated by the tone in his voice.
"Sure. Lead the way Sir." Sarcastically, I saluted him. He may be doing me a big solid but who does he think he is? Also how does he know my name? But seriously now. Why do I have the feeling that everyone in this school acts this way..
Mystery boy took me to get a late slip by reception at the front of the school and I only had a minute left so I decided I would rather just walk to my next class and give it in than to rush to find homeroom and embarrass myself completely.
"What class do you have next?" Why are you asking me? Also why is this boy not even in class as we speak? He seems like the type to not follow the rules or take anything seriously. Yeah, I don't think we would be good friends.
"History." Funny enough this is my best subject or was at least. I hope they teach it the same or at least better than my old school in Vastyl did.
"History huh? A great subject, don't you think?" What is his agenda? Like, maybe take me to my next class and leave me alone.
"What's with all the questions mystery boy? You know you have a class to get to, right?" He laughed at me. What was I saying that was sooooo amusing?
"Mystery boy huh? It's funny Mavis, because I thought out of everyone you'd remember me."
Remember you? What. How could I remember you? We literally just met.
"Anyway... a talk for another time I suppose. Let's get you to class. You have Mr Unger. Don't worry, he's the best. You'll love him."
I was most confused at this point, but I should at least be grateful that mystery boy took me to History and made sure I wasn't late for this class before he wondered off somewhere else.
I wonder if he even managed to get to his next class?
