I sat next to Heidi and Annie, and across from Bebe at the lunch table. People gave me and Annie weird looks. I looked away. There was a concerned look in my eyes, from  the way Annie looked at me. heart raced, but quite literally hurt  at t "Red, could I talk to you for a second?" Heidi asked, looking concerned as well. I nodded, a bit worried. She grabbed me by the sleeve of my shirt and practically dragged me to the hall. She caught her breath. "I've been hearing rumors about you and Annie that I don't think are true. If they are, the kind of rumor that's spreading is private." Heidi explained. My heart dropped. "I think I know what it is! You can't let this rumor spread to Cartman!" I whisper-screamed at her. Heidi flinched. "Sorry." We said at practically the same time. "Wait, what does that entail? It's true?" Heidi asked, clearly trying to stay respectful about it. Her face was pretty much unreadable, but carried some stronge emotion. I blushed and gasped. "NO! NO!" Heidi sighed. "I won't tell anyone. Promise."
I thought it through a little bit, then sighed. "I've had pretty intense feelings for Annie for a while. I realized this morning.  I've been thinking about it. I don't know how to tell her." I looked at Heidi. I knew I could trust her. I smiled at her. She looked guilty. "About not letting the rumor spread to Eric.. he was the one that started the rumor. Bebe told me he posted a picture of you and Annie holding hands." My heart dropped. He'd start something really bad if I didn't find a way to stop him. I ran back in, told all the girls to meet after school, and ran as soon as the bell rang.
