Dahlia symbolizes wealth, strength, and the message 'forever yours'. This latter in particular is a lovely message for a deceased partner.

I woke up somewhat after daybreak out of habit, my body wired to prepare for busy days. As I sat up from bed I looked around and observed what the slivers of light illuminated around our room. Everything seemed to be in order how I preferred it.

Different curtains, different walls, different beds, almost everything was different in the following 5 years since I stationed Marasu in an overseas branch.

But this time instead of a warm body nestled up under the covers against me in the form of my perfect omega and personal secretary, Inko Midoriya the sheets were cold where she was supposed to lay.

It was a slightly unconventional but not so much an irregular occurrence as Inko occasionally got up earlier than me to prep breakfast or get ready for work. It couldn't be the latter though, she was working from home to protect her from... unforeseen circumstances, in other words, Marasu being spotted near our office.

I didn't want him ambushing and harassing her due to my request for divorce, it had already taken years to convince the elders to let me even get the papers.

That wasn't something I wanted to waste time on this morning. I have my lovely omega to search for after all.

"Koko darling where are you? You're well acquainted with how moody I get when I wake up without you in my arms."

What I would've never guessed was her sitting down in the lounge consoling my husband, Marasu. Shit.

Marasu looked up, distraught and disgusted by what he just heard.

"Inko this- this I swear I have no idea why he even bothered showing his face here."

Fuck who let him in without consulting me. The only ones with enough authority to do that while I wasn't here were...

"Security."

"That's your first reaction after seeing me after 5 fucking years?! Reasoning with the homewrecker?"

As if reminded of her current status Inko awkwardly shifted away and the security guards finally shuffled in meekly, now aware of the mistake they had made. I flippantly shooed them out but not without a forewarning that was practically a guarantee of extreme discipline and continued listening to the conversation as Inko muttered a response.

"I- I'm really sorry I just-"

"You don't have to explain anything Inko. What he and I had was strictly a marriage of convenience nothing more nothing less. He's not even a proper omega just a carrier of a powerful gene that produces premium omegas"
