"Noah come over here," Elijah (one of my teammates) waves me over. "Look right there, the volleyball team is drooling over you," he pointed to a window, where I saw a bunch of girls running laps around the gym. "No they're not, they're just running laps," I tense a little. I never really liked how much attention I got from girls, I guess it always kind of just creeped me out, in a way. But today was different, I was kind of eager to see if she was looking. It's not like I liked her or anything it's just... Okay I don't even know what, but I did want to know if Annalise was one of the girls staring.
I looked inside the window and spotted her, she was leading the group of girls doing laps. Her dark brown hair was in a ponytail.
"Noah back to earth? Hello?" Elijah waved his hands in front of my face.
"Oh, um yeah. What do you need?"
"Nothings, it's just when I told you about the volleyball team looking out the window it's like you went into la la land."
"Whatever Eli, let's get back on the field."

"Okay team, good job today,"  Our coach yelled, meaning practice was over. As I grabbed my phone from my backpack I noticed there were some unread texts from my mom.

Hey Noah, I'm not going to be
able to pick you up today - Mom

Oh um okay,I'll figure something out - Noah

Just when I looked up from my phone I saw a familiar girl walking towards her car. "Hey Lock, could you give me a ride home?" She looked really confused at my question.
"Um sure, but why?"
"Oh, my mom couldn't pick me up,"
"So why didn't you just ask one of your friends?"
"Well none of  my friends live next door to me."
"Okay, fine, my car is this way."
As we walked over to her car I thought about why I had asked her instead of any of my friends. I know I said it was because she lived next door, and she did, it's just in reality my friends wouldn't have cared about taking me home, they did most of the time anyway. As she unlocked her car and sat down she looked at me, "First rule I have in my car for you is, you are not allowed to make fun of my music taste whatsoever."
"Why would I make fun of your music taste?" I asked, "I don't know, but just don't okay."  "Fine,"
As she said that, she connected her phone to the car and started playing no one other than Taylor Swift, "Hey why would I make fun of my girl T-Swift, I love her," she smiled at that, "So what's your favorite song?" I had to think about that, "Oh, that's a hard question but Better Than Revenge from Speak Now definitely."
"Great choice but I'm surprised,"
"Why would you be surprised?"
"I'm surprised because I thought you were going  making fun of me,"
"That sounds right, I would totally make fun of you, but NEVER of my idol Taylor Swift,"
"Haha, very funny, but I'll put your favorite song on then,"
"Thank you so much, you're my new favorite person."
"You're welcome," she said with a smirk on her face
When Better Than Revenge ended, she said it was her turn to choose the next song, and her pick was Invisible String from Folklore.
"Time, curious time. Gave me no compasses, gave me no sign. Were there clues I didn't see? And isn't it just so pretty to think. All along there was some. Invisible string. Tying you to me Ooh.."  She sang along "You know you are a great singer, you should try out for American Idol," I said with clear sarcasm, but that only made her sing louder. "No but really you're bursting my eardrums, right now," I wasn't exaggerating when I said her singing sucked, but who was I to say anything, I was probably worse than her. "I think I'm achieving my goal then,"
"The goal of making me deaf,"
"Mmh" she nodded.
The rest of the car ride was misery. I think she was singing worse than normal just to get on my nerves. Finally we got home, and I could enjoy the peace and quite. "I am never getting a ride from you again." I told her while I got out of her car "Good, I don't want to have to drive you again." Annalise rolled her eyes. "See you later Lock,"
"See you never Hart."
