TWO YEARS AGO:

When I was 16, Theo was 18

My mother, Love, has loved hosting dinners, parties, anything of the sorts since I can remember. Even without an occasion.

It was a warm summer evening and Mama had invited Uncle Budha and the Richards, Kent, Monet and of course Theo.

Being the middle of summer we had opted for the outside dining area. Everyone was sitting around the table, the adults conversing about god knows what, I had zoned out after they stared talking about some boring adult stuff.

There were two bottles of red wine on the table. Uncle Budha had let me have a glass. Not bad, it was sweet but also tangy.

I yawned behind my hand, my eyes drooping closed and open. I rest my chin in my hands and lean my elbows on the table, allowing my eyes to stay shut.

Maybe staying up that late on facetime to Zoe last night was a bad idea...

"Rara honey, could you grab us a bottle of white from the kitchen?" Mamas sweet voice lulled in the background. But i was way too tired to even listen.

I could hear the voices of our guests and my parents speaking for a moment but thought it was just in my head, in my half asleep state.

"Is she asleep?"

"I believe so,"

"Theo hon, would you mind taking Rara upstairs, I think she may be a tad exhausted."

"Yeah, I'll be right back."

I was far too tired to connote what was happening around me. I was pretty much knocked out, aside from hearing muted muted voices.

I feel my chair being pulled back making my arms falter from the table but before my posture could fall i was caught in warm arms.

"Come on then."

The arms hoist me up keeping me close the body and up of the chair. I feel myself being carried but let myself drift back off.

Im then placed on a comfy, soft surface. The loss of warmth wakes me slightly. I open my eyes and sit up to see Theo rising from beside my bed, presumably from placing me down.

"My dress is uncomfortable can you pass me that t-shirt?" I ask quietly.

Theo licked his lip and sighed grabbing the shirt from my chair, making his way back to me. I stood wobly, still half asleep.

"Thanks."
"No problem."

I start taking off my dress, not even thinking of him still there.

"Uhm sorry," He mumbles turning around fiddling with nicknacks on my dresser. "So why were you passing out at the table?"

"Your dull presence just sends me right to sleep." I kid poking fun at him.

"Haha. Funny. Why?"

"I was up late last night talking to Zoe if you must know."

"I'll let Love know you had a late one. Or she won't stop worrying." He says putting back an ornament I got from the dolphine sanctuary.

"Yeah she'd probably think i'm sick. Come and wake me up shoving a thermometer in my mouth," We both let out a little laugh but he covers it by clearing his throat.

"Sleep well."

And with that he leaves.

"Yeah thanks Theo." I huff and flop on my bed, more or less immediately passing out.
