i promise you she notices,
she notices that you go out of your way for her,
she picks up on the little ways in which you try to improve her day,
or how when she talks you always have that big smile on your face.
she notices.
she notices you laugh extra hard when it's her that makes the joke,
or how you never fail to offer to walk her home,
she isn't oblivious to your feelings for her.
the only problem is that she just doesn't want it to be you,
she pursues the boy who pushes and pulls,
the one who doesn't care to text her back or bring her flowers,
the one who sees her for her physical being and simply that.
she wants the boy that only cares for himself,
and she knows it.
she knows she isn't ready to accept your kind of love,
she isn't ready to open up or share her feelings with someone else,
because to do that she'd first have to figure out how to love herself.
so she ignores you.
she hopes you'll find another girl to spend your time with or encounter other things that begin to fill your days,
but when your gone.
only then will she realise she wanted you to stay.
she'll realise that she misses your little acts of service,
the warmth on the side of the bed of which you once laid,
or the way you pulled away so delicately after a kiss.
but then it will be too late,
it will be far to late for a love between you and her to exist,
and it won't only be painful to her but also for you.
because you will always think of the love that could've flourished between the two of you.
