Behind The Scenes Chapter 1:

Chapter One: Excruciating Realizations

Lucifer was at it again discussing another plan to cross the border holding him from taking over the throne of Lady Infinity, until he caught the eyes of one of his pawns dancing upon him. "Thanatos are you paying attention or are you just staring at me?" Lucifer's painfully aggravated voice roared. "Yes! I'm always paying attention to you Sir." He responded sharply. Lucifer let out a deep laugh and made unnecessarily strong eye contact. "I would expect so since after all you are my controller of Death." The devil said breaking eye contact. "Now my plan." He says, crossing his arms, when his eyes quickly turned to look in the direction where a clear attention wanting cough was let out. "Ahem." Invidia taps her finger, "I'm sorry Luci but I'm afraid none of us will understand your plan unless we all get the same attention.." she says, locking eyes with Lucifer. In response he sighs, "Right right, sorry Invidia.." he says rolling his eyes. The jealousy that radiated of Invidia wasn't new as she is the symbol of jealousy but it was very unappreciated currently and Lucifer wasn't having it. "..but this is my meeting and I can run it as I see fit. Do you understand?" The devil said with such assertiveness it made the rest of them get a chill. Though Invidia just smiled and nodded in response as if that's what she wanted. To be talked down on, which quite unfortunately wouldn't be surprising. "Thank you. Now the rest of you.." he stands up, "..please do your jobs then report back to me." Lucifer says going back to his office. Invidia turns her head to Deceit, "You were surprisingly quiet." She says with slight curiosity, "What's the occasion?" She flutters her eyes. Deceit glares. "Don't bring me into this you two faced imbecile." The sharp tone of his voice pierced through Invidia. "Well excuse me for being worried about you Deceit." She replies in that same atrocious tone. Deceit only laughs and rests his head on his hand. He let out his faint but clear smirk, barely showing his teeth but they were still there. The dim lighting hit him perfectly and Invidias eyes were painfully taking it all in. Deceit is the embodiment of lies and untruthful words but she couldn't help but feel some way towards him. Whether it was love, hate, or just the mere attraction she just couldn't look away. Deceit dances his eyes around her until he finally locks eyes. "Are you going to quit staring at me? Your face irritates me." He lies. He had the same emotion towards her as she does for him. Thanatos just watches them. He knows very well that these two have a connection even though neither of which will admit it, he just sits there, letting it run through. Invidia flushes a slight pink, barely visible but if you looked hard enough you'd see it. She scoffs. "Always so high with your ego aren't you?" She looks away. Deceit just laughs it off and looks back to Thanatos finally. "What's going on in your mind, space cadet? You seem almost lost." He says. Thanatos only shrugs then blinks. "Honestly thinking if I should check on Lucifer." Thanatos shakily says. Invidia then also looks at Thanatos with confusion. "Why would you? It's not like he's doing anything wrong- well, of course he is, but you understand my point right?" She asks. Thanatos's eyes trail to Lucifer's office door. "I don't know.. aren't you ever curious of what happens in his office too?" The death bringer replies in question. What's obvious here is Thanatos just wants to know everything he can about Lucifer as he is technically his apprentice. Though one can only imagine what Lucifer is doing, plotting domination, writing his rules out in stone, or who knows Lucifer is a highly self centered person. Though to a surprise Lucifer spins around in his office chair holding a picture in his hand. "Oh what'd I'd do to be with you..your pure heart, pure eyes, everything about you is pure.. and with that purity you should be with me." Lucifer speaks to the picture as he sets it on his desk to reveal the hidden picture in which it was of Lady Infinity, ruler of the other side. How forbidden it was for his feelings to exist but he covers it up with hate and actions. He caresses the picture. "A beauty like you should fall and become corrupted with me. As we melt and become one. As I would destroy the whole universe and border just to lay a hand on your soft skin.." He says with desire, need, and a hint of obsession. Obsession was a minimum of what Lucifer has for Lady Infinity, but it's impossible for him to grab what's so close, but so far from his reach. As not only is it forbidden but she is in the hands of someone else, someone else who wouldn't let him near her even if he could cross that border. The border he only wants to destroy in order to take her as his, corrupt her to be his love, his in general. Corruption was the only work to describe the way she'd have to be in order to be his. As a being so high as her would have to fall so low to be his. Lucifer sighs. "I wish the rules in stone would just fall. Fall as I did." The anger of his voice echoed. Thanatos heard the growling from the office and walked back to his room. "I'll check on him when he isn't clearly aggravated." He says sitting back in his chair. Now with the other two, Deceit and Invidia, they both got into another banter. "Deceit! How dare you. I am no such thing." Invidia looks away. Deceit laughs and that laugh turns into a growl. "You're so disgraceful it's charming." He says tauntingly as he gets up. "Till again I decide to leave my room." He finishes as he walks into his room rudely slamming his door. Invidia stayed at the main table pulling out her note book and wrote down the information she pretended that she didn't receive down. Then back to Lucifer. "I might just stop at the border myself..Yes! That's just what I'll do now, let's hope I see her.." he says looking in the mirror. The way he examined himself to make sure he looked ethereal was a long process, he stared at himself for a good while, his long hair gliding to his waist, his piercing eyes glaring at his imperfections. The insecurity he never felt before finally hit him. He growls. "If I'm so perfect then why do I feel this way..I never felt so inferior to..him." He says moving hair out of his face then pulling out a red tie and putting it around his black button up. "Why I even bother trying is hilarious, them in their 'holy' outfits.." he snakes out with a slight his then looks at himself one last time, nods, then makes his way to the border. When he arrived he waited. He just waited and waited for just one sign of Lady Infinity, then time felt slower. Infinity had arrived. Her aura glows so bright, and her eyes glow brighter, she lands gracefully on her feet then looks at him, once the eye contact hits all that glow faded instantly. "Why are you here Lucifer? Why?" Her angelic voice said so venomously. Lucifer was stunned yet almost frightened. He just shrugged it off. "I wanted to see you." He says, "Is that so wrong Infinity?" He finishes in question. Infinity was taken back by this statement and let out a small smile. "My people warned me you were going to do something terrible, Lucifer, why would you send such a threat?" She asks in return. Lucifer just scoffs. "You really think I'd be imbecilic enough to threaten you? You really think so highly of me." He was clearly offended. "Lucifer.." Infinity lets slip as she tries to reach over the border. Lucifer steps back. "Don't touch me right now.. not after that. Plus your husband wouldn't be too happy having the knowledge you're talking to me right now." He says. Infinity moves her hand back to her side and looks guilty. "I don't want any harm and difference between us, it's just, what's written is.." She gets cut off, Lucifer rolls his eyes. "You can't be serious, Infinity you make the rules, if you really wanted no difference you wouldn't have us separated." He says sharply. "Of course, yes, I have some rights but the rules were written before my time, before our time." She says timidly, reaching over the border again to tap his shoulder. "If you want a different Lucifer..Cross the border." She moves her hand and allows herself to let her guard down. Lucifer himself let out a slight blush. "Lady, I can't. Your rules don't allow me too, otherwise I'd be with you! I mean. Be in the same area as you. One side. No differences." He growls out. Infinity steps closer. "If you want to be with me Lucifer..I need you to cross the border.." She says disappearing. "WHAT?!" Lucifer was caught off guard. "Be with her..cross the border.." He stupidly tries to cross now only to be launched into the pile rocks behind him. "...I will cross that border." He stands up and moves out of the rocks. Now with Lady Infinity, she can't believe what she just said. "I told Lucifer I could be with him if he crossed the border...I TOLD LUCIFER I COULD BE WITH HIM IS HE CROSSED THE BORDER?!" She panics, then turns red, then catches her realization that she, Infinity, loved him as well. Now she doesn't know that Lucifer has feelings for her, no of course not but her mere knowledge that she loved him was enough. She was scared. Really scared. She knew she had an emotion that was forbidden to have. Crazy. He was the one she was never allowed to be near, now, more than ever, she wanted to. She wanted to cross the border completely herself, but if she did, she would fall, and to be fallen is the one rule to never be forgiven.
