It was the morning after Sam and Tara were attacked at the gas station last night. The friend group all sat around at the campus trying to figure out why the killings were starting again. Celia was sitting in between Ethan's legs on the floor, her arms propped up on his thighs since he was sitting on the bench. (this sounds really confusing i don't know how to describe it, once you get the idea it's not confusing 😭)
"Okay nerds, listen up!" Mindy announced, "As terrifying as this all is, I'm actually glad I get a chance to redeem myself for not," she paused for a moment putting her head down in defeat before continuing again, "calling the killers last time."
"It's fine, okay, the way I see it someone is out to make a sequel to the requel." Anika raised her and and started talking before anyone could look at her.
"Uhm, what's a requel?"
"You're beautiful sweetie, let's hold questions till the end." Anika only gave her a sweet smile that seemed sarcastic but almost genuine at the same time.
"Stab one took place in Woodsboro" Sam said, "Stab two took place in collage." Tara looked back in fourth between her sister and Mindy,
"Do you think the killer is trying to copy the movies?" She asked.
"That is one possibility."
"Heroes now in collage, check. Suspicious new characters brought in to round out the suspect list and body count, check." Mindy motioned towards Ethan which he only gave her a confused look causing Celia to roll her eyes.
"Check, check, and check." She added pointing at Anika, Quinn, and Ethan.
"I don't like this." Ethan said placing his hands onto Celia's arms.
"Okay but what makes you think it couldn't be one of us?" Celia said, motioning her arm in a circle towards Chad, Sam, Tara, Mindy, and then her. "I'm not saying it is but it could be a possibility." Everyone just stared at her, especially Mindy.
"Okay I was kidding calm down." She mumbled.
"It can't just be about stab two"
"Why not?"
"It would make sense if this were just a sequel, but we're not in a sequel. Because nobody just makes sequels anymore." Everyone looked at Mindy with confused looks on their faces, Ethan just looked completely done and Chad looked like he wanted to make fun of her.
"We're in a franchise!" She exclaimed, making big arm motions to emphasize. "And there are certain rules to a continuing franchise." Anika sighed and so did Sam.
"I had a feeling." Sam said. Mindy wasted no time and started again,
"Rule one! Everything is bigger than last time. Bigger budget, bigger cast, bigger body count, bigger shootouts, chases, beheadings, "
"Beheadings?"
"Beheadings."
"Rule two! Whatever happened last time, expect the opposite. If the killers last time were whiny snowflake film nerds with letterboxd instead of personalities, you can bet the opposite will be true here."
"And rule three, no one is safe." Mindy continued to talk, mentioning movie characters that died so the franchise could live on.
"Any of us could go at anytime, especially Sam and Tara." Both girls had a terrified look on their faces. Obviously both girls didn't want that but Mindy had a point.
"W-w-wait, any of us?" Ethan said startled, "Am I in the friend group?" Celia turned her face to look at Ethan and so did Chad, both of them giving him a confused look as if he wasn't dating one of them and hasn't been friends with the other for almost a year.
"Am I like one of the targets?"
"Mhm"
"Am I gonna die a virgin?"

Celia's face dropped and everyone looked confused. Chad spoke up first,
"Wait, you guys haven't? I thought you..." He said quietly moving his finger back and fourth between Celia and Ethan. Her eyes went wide and so did his.
"I mean, well, no I-" He mumbled quickly being shut up by Celia,
"Ethan please be quiet."
"Okay sorry."
"That was a weird overshare" Mindy said before continuing as if he never said anything, "but it brings us to our current suspects, Ethan."
"What?" Celia piped up, "You can't be serious, I mean he got scared of a groundhog last year let's be serious for a minute."
"Sh be quiet, he's a shy dorky guy that no one suspects because he's so shy and dorky."
"Okay wait why am I on the suspect list because I'm randomly Chads roommate?" Mindy and Ethan continued to bicker before Mindy shut him up and moved onto love interest.
"Never trust the love interest, that goes for you too Celia."
"What?"
"Ethan could kill you, it wouldn't be the first time a boyfriend betrays his girlfriend, just a matter of time. And lastly! you clearly have so much trust for him, it would be so easy."
Celia moved her head up to look at Ethan,
"You gonna kill me dork?"
"Never."
"It's settled then." Celia said, a small grin appearing on her face.
AUTHORS NOTE: i was gonna make this chapter wayyy longer but i have to babysit so i'm gonna try to write when i get back.
i haven't edited this chapter yet so there might be grammar mistakes.
