The young girl stepped towards the house slowly as if she hesitated, something pulling her back into the shadows. She glanced at the moon high in the night sky, the soft whispers of the wind running through her hair. It was a cloudless night and the girl smiled at the sight of a thousand stars shimmering above her.

A door opening made her jump.

" Well don't you want to come in ?" wondered the man holding the door open, his smile was kind, almost pitiful.

The girl nodded and came into the house not before looking at the moon once more. The night kept her at ease whereas teenagers like her would be terrified of the void in the darkness, she felt oddly pulled to it. Like it was home. A safe place only for her to claim.

Something was wrong with her.

But if wrong, why so alluring ?

She shook her head off, silencing those thoughts and probably answering a question form the man, her uncle in the process. He looked at her, his eyes kind and as profound as an ocean.

" Sorry, I'm actually exhausted" The teenager admitted looking up to meet her uncle's gaze, clenching the straps of her bag. The male nodded in understanding before motioning towards her room upstairs.

" It's okay, Azrael. Goodnight and don't forget about school tomorrow."

Opening the door, she was greeted by a well done bed, soft blankets lit up by the moonlight, and several pillows in a heart shape. It was cute. She didn't realize she had walked towards that bed until her hands grazed the soft fabric. In a swift movement she set down her backpack before sitting down.

Azrael ran her hands through her ebony hair as if it could make those thoughts, those images in her mind disappear. She sniffled, her nose suddenly full as her eyes burned but no tears ran down her cheeks. They soaked her cheeks hours ago until there were none left.

A soft knock prevented her from swimming into that pit of despair. She quickly regained her composure or at least hoped to.

" Oh hi cousin" Her cousin whispered and she looked tired too if her half closed eyes were anything to go by. " I was kinda excited to see you and as you can see, I fell asleep and well here we are"

Az felt a genuine smile quirk her lips and she snorted, an amused glint in her eyes.

" Al, did you run into the door again ?"

" Oh come on, it was years ago !" Allison threw her hands in the air in frustration as she whispered yelled at her cousin silently chuckling.

" Oh you did !"

" Oh my god"

There was silence after this bickering between the two females. Allison turned around but stopped in as she held the door.

" It's nice to see you again, Az. Don't forget about school tomorrow" Azrael felt like Allison wanted to say something else but she didn't. She slipped away to go to sleep and Azreal did the same.

Well, even getting sleep is not an easy task because when she closed her eyes, memories of what happened earlier haunted her sleep. Preventing her to rest so she just laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. Luckily she didn't wake anyone up and it's for the better.

Azrael is the first one to listen when her friends have something to say or emotions to pour out, but she's not. She will just shut down when she has problems and deal with them on her own.

Sighing, she sat on her bed, legs crossed, sleep escaping her grasp. Looking around for a thing to do, her gaze set down on the clock telling 3am. She barely had three hours of sleep. The teenage girl decided to draw so she took her material out of her bag and opened her window to sit down on the roof.

The black haired girl always had nightmares and to forget them, she drew what she saw. It helped her fight and forget them. She spinned her pencil around a few times as she frowned, recalling details in her mind before setting the lead of her pencil on the white sheet.

Sometime later, a form appeared on the sheet.

It looked like a bull, a giant one standing on its back legs and flaring its nostrils. It was as tall as a house and crushed a car – her father's car – under one huge hoof. The female paused, staring at her drawing and she could hear its roars and her father's agonizing screams.

With shaky breaths, she blinked a few times at the sudden light – Light ? A clang reached her ears as if a window was opened abruptly and she wiped her head towards the noise to find her cousin concerned.

" What the hell are you doing on the roof ?" She asked, bewildered, her hands on the window's seat.

" What the hell are you doing at the window ?" repeated Al's question with a frown not quite knowing why everything is lit up and why Allison is at her window ready to go to school.

" Girls ! We're leaving in 5 minutes !" was yelled from downstairs.

I can assure you, you never saw a teenager change clothes that fast to go to school.

" Oh fuck !" yelled the first female racing down the stairs closely followed by a newly clothed Azrael. " Double fuck !"
