If you could write a story for a time capsule, one that wouldn't be opened until the year 2114, what would you say?
To celebrate the creation of Katie Paterson's artwork Future Library, we're hosting the "Dear 2114" Future Library writing contest with Margaret Atwood.
The Writing Contest
Write a story based on one of the following prompts to enter the "Dear 2114" Future Library writing contest:
*Dear 2114 - Write a story about the advice you would give the world in 2114?
*This is 2114 - Write a story about what the world be like when the Future Library is opened in 2114?
*Pandora's Room - Write what you imagine are in the stories of the Future Library that will be first read in 2114?
Pick one of the prompts, write your story, and tag it #FutureLibrary. Also, be sure to include the words "scribbler moon" somewhere in your story. In addition to some amazing prizes, Winning stories will be featured by Margaret Atwood and Wattpad.
Scribbler Moon?
As part of the Future Library project, FAMOUS author and Wattpad's fairy godmother Margaret Atwood wrote a secret story called "Scribbler Moon". This story was sealed in a time capsule today, before anyone could read it, and it will stay secret inside the Future Library until the year 2114.

Future Library is a project to collect 100 secret stories from 100 different authors for 100 years. Every year, a new author writes a secret story, and it is locked in the Future Library until the year 2114. Entry Details
- Submit your story by 11:59pm GMT on June 9th
- Post your story to your Wattpad profile and tag it #FutureLibrary
- Must use the term "scribbler moon" somewhere in the story, but you can use it any way you like.
- Your story must be 5000 words or less
- Open to all Wattpad users worldwide age 13 or older
- One entry per person
- All stories must be in English
Prizes
- Five winning stories will be selected by Future Library and the Wattpad team.
- Winners will be announced June 19.
- Syngrafii signed digital image, personalized by Margaret
- Winning stories are posted to Margaret's profile
- Wattpad promotion to winning writers (on Wattpad and Wattpad social/writer spotlight)
