Rustbolt was always known as the "weird" one of the Zombie Heroes. They all had their little quirks. Sure, Neptuna and Brainstorm had a superiority complex, and Impfinity always got into trouble. But Rustbolt always seemed...distant. He didn't go up and talk to any of the other heroes unless he had to. The only time anyone really saw him talk was when the heroes had meetings, and even then, it was mostly just "yes sir" or "I understand". Heck, Brain Freeze didn't even remember what his voice sounded like. But he didn't care. Rustbolt was always daydreaming, always off in his own little world. Is what the others thought. But really, he was afraid. Always conjuring up bad scenarios in his head. Always thinking that the worst thing would happen. But it never did. And he still kept thinking that.

And most noticable of all, he seemed to never fight. Rustbolt never really wanted to harm the plants. He has amazing precision with his shots, but he chose to miss. But only by just enough, so that no one would be suspicious. Though, he still hit them every once in a while. Whether it be a scrape from a laser, or a slap from his spatula. Every once in a while, he'd land a hit. And it hurt him. Not physically, but mentally. He didn't want to fight the plants. He'd rather just stay in his room, doing the things he loves, without having to worry about this war, or anything.

Well, they were here. Immorticia had instructed him on the plan while they traveled. It was simple. Get to the factory, barricade all entrances, and guard it until the zombie engineers and other workers start fixing the place up to Zomboss's liking. They went in through a previously broken window. The abandoned factory had a bunch of space in it, perfect for a secondary zombie HQ. The conveyors could be used like escalators, or maybe they could use this place to produce weapons and other tools. But, no time to think about that. The plants would be here soon.

And sooner than expected. At a moment's notice, the front doors of the factory flew open, Solar Flare and Beta Carrotina going in. They looked ready to fight. Though you couldn't see it, Rustbolt was freaking out. Whenever he fought, he'd always be with a few other zombies. But not just one. He couldn't afford to let his peaceful tendencies take over here. He had to fight them, for real. Immorticia would surely know if he was intentionally missing, and who knows what Zomboss would do if he found out.

And just as quickly as they arrived, the plants started fighting.

Solar Flare shot a blast of fire at him, quickly dodging. He retaliated with a laser shot, with another dodge. That's how most of their battles went. Just projectile after projectile, dodge after dodge. The fights would only end when someone got injured. They'd either last a few minutes, or take up their entire day. It was tiring for him, doing the same thing every day. Waking up(whenever he actually got to sleep), fighting plants, going home, (sometimes) falling asleep. The same thing, every day. He hated it.

A swarm of Zom-Bats from Immorticia kept the newly arrived Nightcap distracted while Rustbolt kept fighting Solar Flare. More fire from her, more lasers from him. It went for what felt like hours, even though it was only a few minutes. Once Immorticia had gotten Nightcap to retreat, she started to focus on Beta Carrotina. But that space carrot was just too fast for her. This made her mad. REAL mad.

"Rustbolt, you numbskull, do something!" She screamed at him, still firing blasts from her wand.

"I'm trying to take down Flare here!"

"Oh, gimme that!"

She grabbed onto the large laser gun on Rustbolt's back, trying to aim it herself. He kept fighting her, though, while still dodging attack from both Plant Heroes. Then, it happened.

A misfire shot from the laser gun, bouncing around the room wildly. All 4 heroes watched it speed around. Finally, it struck something. A small crack in the ceiling, leaking in a small amount of sunlight. It quickly became bigger and bigger by the millisecond, the part of the roof quickly caving in, falling rubble quickly following.

Right on top of Solar Flare.

It crushed her, the sounds of tearing leaves and screaming echoing around the room. Then, silence.

No one dared to speak. Rustbolt just looked at the pile of rubble, the flower under it. Beta Carrotina just stared in horror. Then, she had called someone, presumably the plant emergency responders. Rustbolt and Immorticia fled the scene, going back to the Zombie HQ.

Just as they were flying away, they saw the red and blue lights, the blaring sirens. But Rustbolt only heard one thing.

Beta Carrotina's weeping.
