Sonic knocked on Amy's door. "Hey Amy, are you okay?" Sonic asked through her door. She hadn't been out all day and he was worried. She always would come over to his house in the morning to train. He knew something was going on. Amy had been acting strange this entire week. When he had confronted her about it she said it was nothing.

But he just felt something in his chest. That something wasn't right. He needed to be there for her. For whatever she was going through.

"Amy?! Are you okay? Can I come in?" He asked.

"No! Just leave me alone!" Sonic heard Amy yell through the door. "Amy! Let me in! What's wrong with you?" He asked her worriedly. The door swung open to reveal Amy. Her eyes were red and puffy. She looked mad and weak. Like she hadn't eaten in a few days. "Amy..." as soon as he said her name she collapsed into tears.

"Shhh...shhh...what happened?" Sonic asked as he sat down on her patio and sat her in his lap. He stroked her quills and kissed her forehead protectively as she cried into his chest. "Th-They...they called me such terrible things...they...threw rocks at me!" Amy cried.

Sonics body tensed up. "What? Who?!" He yelled and pulled her back to look at her. "I-I can't tell you..." Amy sniffed. Sonic stared at her in shock. "What?! Why not?" He asked her. "Because I know what you'd do!" She yelled and cried more. Sonic clenched his fist and stroked her quills with his other hand. He bit his bottom lip, so he wouldn't admit she was right.

He'd hurt them. "I knew something was wrong." Sonic whispered and Amy clung to his fur. "How long has been this going on?" He growled and hugged her tightly. "A-About a week..." She stammered. Sonic tightened his grip around her even more. "You won't be going anywhere without me now, understood?" He said to her.

Amy looked up at him. His eyes blazing with fire. "Sonic...i-it's ok-"

"This is NOT ok, Amy! Whoever is doing this is going to pay!" Amy shook her head and wiped her tears away. "Sonic...the best thing to do is to ignore it." She told him.

Sonics jaw dropped. She had just been sobbing about what the idiotic jerks had done! And now she's saying to ignore it? "We can't just ignore this Amy!" He yelled at her.

"Well I am! If I ignore this...it'll go away..." She whispered. It sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than him. "I'm going to ignore it. You can do whatever you wish." She paused. "Thank you for coming to see me, Sonic." She said and kissed his forehead then jumped out of his lap and went back inside.

Amy sat down on her couch. She cocooned herself up in her fluffy purple blanket. Tissues were overfilling the trash can next to her couch. She just couldn't understand why those boys were so mean to her. Her lip quivered as she touched her side where a sharp rock had cut her deep. She had put a bandage over it to stop the bleeding. She knew how to tend to wounds. She was lucky all her medical supplies were there when she got home that day.

It hurt to think about that day. She just wanted to stay inside now. But, she couldn't let the bullies get to her. She would just work harder during the day with Sticks. Not with Sonic. He knew her too well. He'd see and notice something. Sticks would just figure she wanted to do more and leave it at that.

Amy sighed as she tucked her head inside her blanket and closed her eyes tightly. She decided she should just sleep it off. She'd feel better after the nap.

Sonic had went back to his own house. He had glared at everyone who passed him. As if daring them to say something. He wanted to rip off everyone's head. No one hurt his best friend. No one hurt his Amy.

He went to his bed and landed face down in the pillows. "Ugh!!!" He moaned. "Why won't she let me protect her? I can do so much to help!" He growled under his breath. "She'll see. I'm going to find whoever was doing that to her. Then I'll let them see how it feels!" He stormed off back to town.

When Sonic arrived at town he was boiling mad. Everyone could see it, and no one dared ask questions. They just kept looking away and tried to not make eye contact.

"Idiotic townspeople..." Sonic murmured as he walked past Shadow, who had caught his sentence.

"Sonic? Never thought I'd hear you say those words." He chuckled. Sonic whipped around and put his hands around Shadows neck. "You think this is a joke?! Are you the one hurting her?!" He yelled angrily. Everyone and everything stopped. It was completely silent. "Sonic...wh-what are you...talking about?" Shadow said through gasps of air.

Sonics eyes widened as he removed his hands and looked away. "Sorry Shadow. It's just that...someone's hurting Amy, and I-I just can't let them get away." He whispered so no one else would hear. Shadow rubbed his neck as Sonic went on talking. "She was so sad...I don't know what came over me. I just...I knew something was wrong. I knew she needed me."

"Hold up. You say someone's hurting Amy?" Shadow asked with a raised eyebrow. Sonic nodded and looked back at him. "Do you know who?" Sonic asked, trying to keep his cool.

"Can't say I do...but you should ask my gal, Rouge. She's a pretty good spy." He chuckled and blushed. "She really likes gems...if you know what I mean." He winked and handed him a card. "She'll take care of this. All you've gotta do is wait and she'll get you the names."

With that Shadow left and Sonic stared at the card. "Hmmm..."
