Chapter One

When I woke up, I couldn't see anything, it was dark everywhere. I felt that something was tightly wrapped around me, I tried to free myself but I couldn't. I wonder where I am? Where is San Lang? What happened? A series of questions gathered in my head, but I didn't get an answer to any of them.

In the morning I woke up again lying next to my wonderful  Gege. I felt that he was a little tense lying next to me, so I asked him what was wrong. He didn't answer so I turned to him. I was about to speak, but Gege preceded me.-Get off the bed now!- his voice was cold and emotionless, it didn't fit the person I knew. But maybe he's finally realized I'm useless, I thought. I started to get up but he didn't wait and pushed me off the bed. I hit the ground with a loud thud, then I looked up and the blood froze in my veins (which is no longer there because his a ghost).As I looked up at him he gave me the most disdainful look possible.- I don't even know how I've been around you until now, you're pathetic. I have the worst believer. - he said, every word coming out of his mouth as contempt.

I haven't felt this way in a long time, I don't even know how I could have thought that I would be a suitable person for his highness. Sadness started to take over me, so I decided to go for a walk in ghost city. I'll have time to think things over while I'm away from his highness. I started with this determination.I had already reached the more populated part of the city and stopped in front of a vendor. When I was about to walk away, I saw something white slip past me, I turned around and saw Gege standing next to me. I already turned to him to hug him, he was almost in my arms, then a sudden pain shot through my right side and Gege came up to me and whispered in my ear - You really thought you deserved to touch me. You are very naive for being a ghost king, it's pathetic. - I felt tears forming in the corners of my eyes, so I tried to blink them away. Then I looked down at my side and saw that a small knife had caused the pain. The blood was already soaking my clothes, so I didn't have much choice but to go back to Paradise Manor. But before I left, I heard the vendor's voice - Chengzhu you're wounded, let us help you find who the culprit was. - damn, I forgot about it. - It's not necessary, I'll solve it myself. - I answered, reassuring the seller, who seemed to be spreading the news throughout the city in the next moment. Suddenly I felt Gege's hand on mine and I started to be glad that I was just imagining the previous things. But unfortunately, I jerked back to reality as soon as Gege started dragging me back into Paradise Manor.As soon as we got back, Gege pushed me, causing me to fall to the ground. When I looked up, I saw him take out his sword and stab me hard in the stomach with it. - Did you think that everything would be over if you ran away? You were wrong it will never end.- he said in a sadistic voice. I just tolerated the stabbings, I didn't dare to talk back to his highness. After all, I gave him my ashes, he does what he wants with me. 

Eventually everything went dark and I felt nothing.

//Time jump to the next morning//

The next day when I woke up I found myself still on the floor. I woke up sad, the knowledge that his highness doesn't care about me hurts. I stood up and headed towards the bathroom. I didn't take many steps because my legs said enough and I found myself on the floor again. With great difficulty I reached a chair and looked at my legs. I didn't find anything unusual, so I thought that yesterday's punches and stabs didn't spare my leg either. Lost in my thoughts, I wondered how I could continue to be of service to his highness without being stabbed every other day. A loud snap next to me jolted me back to reality. I looked up and met Gege's eyes. I was about to say hello, but he interrupted.- Why are you sitting on the chair? Didn't I tell you that such a person of yours belongs on the floor. - then he pulled me off the chair and I was on the floor again. His highness sat down on the chair and sent me a look of disdain. I sat next to the chair and pulled my knees up to my chest and bent my head on it.In the afternoon, I told his highness that Yin Yu had brought some questionable items, so I would go and examine them. He didn't even look at me, he just nodded. Than I left the house with my head down.

When he saw that I had arrived, he turned to say hello, but as soon as he saw me, he stopped. I'm not the shy type, but the way he was staring at me was a little unsettling. Finally, he spoke - C-chengzhu what happened to you? Who did this? - I could make out a little concern in his voice.
