Smells like teen spirit- Nirvana

Sophia's pov

I looked around me one last time, as I caught a look at my now empty bedroom.

My fingers slid along the dark blue wall, where there were a few hours ago all my pictures and other memories from the recent years. I rested my head on the door, as I slowly sat down on the floor, next to my boxes, full of my stuff that I was taking with me. I smiled as the memories flew back into my minds, as I remembered all the time Elizabeth and I had a sleep over and stayed up all night, just so we could talk endlessly. Or the day I got my first heart break by my very first crush and the most recent one, only a couple of days ago. Ethan, my last boyfriend, had dumped me at our prom, after he took me back home. To him, what we had was just a high school romance and he thought that we wouldn't make it since we were both leaving for University. I had locked myself into my room for an entire day so I could cry my eyes out. At the end, it didn't even felt better to cry! I felt even worst, as my face was heavy just as much as my heart was. I thought this move was the change I needed to forget Ethan.

I could also count all the times I ran out of my room because my little brother Alex had stolen my make up or under wears, or all the times I tried to fall asleep to the heavy metal music of my big brother, Kevin.

How was it possible that I had just turned 18 years-old and I was now moving into my own apartment with my best friend, Elizabeth? We were going to University together, just as planned, and we had find ourself the perfect apartment near the campus, as well as a job in a clothing store. We were moving into another town, we would meet new people and totally change everything. It was my chance to become the one I wanted to be, the one I was once too shy to reveal.

A slight knock snapped be back to reality as I stood up and opened my door. My parents were standing there, a little smile on their face.

"It's time to go, honey!" My mother said in a small voice. I knew she was holding her tears back, since I was the first kid in the house to leave the family foyer. Kevin was still at home, trying to finish his high school at 20 years-old and Alex was only 11 so he still had plenty of time to find out what he wanted to be.

"Elizabeth just arrived. She is waiting outside." My father added and a big smile appeared on my face.

It was finally time, to pack my boxes and bags in my friend's car and start our new life.

My parents helped me to carry my things outside, where Beth was waiting for me. She opened the back of the car and we managed to fit all my stuff in it, added to all of hers in her tiny old thing that she called her car. Once we were done, I turned around to see my little but so precious family, standing behind my friend and I. My father had his arm around my mother's shoulders, who was holding a hand to her heart. Alex and Kevin were there too, my little brother playing with his soccer ball and Kevin was just waiting for all of this to be over. He wasn't into goodbyes or any kind of affection things. But, I knew that deep down, he loved me!

"Well... this is it!" I said, smiling to my parents. I walked up to them, as we all didn't knew what else to do. Suddenly, my mother rushed to me and took me into her arms.
