It always ends like this...

Me on the couch, crying over some dude and my friends comforting me.

It was just like this when my dad assaulted me and hospitalized my mom.

But I've grown since then, we have grown since then. Although it still seems that I am attracted to assholes. Matt isn't like that though.

He was there when I was assaulted, when my dad was arrested and when I nearly witnessed my mom trying to kill herself. Damn he was even my first kiss. He was always that guy that you could count on but he tends to keep things to himself. He was that funny popular guy that somehow ended up with me and we never got separated. Our friendship only grew when Amy joined. She was 'the gossiper' that's why she is my source whenever I have an English essay I need to complete.

Amy has gone through a lot of rough things in her life but she just seems to hold back for some reason. It's like she knows about everyone else but herself. Atleast she says beating up the "dickheads" (my past boyfriends) is the best part pf my break ups. To be fair it is mine too, well maybe the princess treatment and the icecream might top that but mostly the beating up guys.

Right now though I'm under my weighted blanket, watching the lorax while cuddled up next to Matt while amy gets the icecream and popcorn ready.

"See darling we are always here for you when you need us." I hear a whisper in my ear. "I feel bad because you guys are always on clean up control." I reply snuggled up in my blanket.  "Don't be princess that is why we are here." I can feel his breath on my neck. "Matt-"

"THE SNACKS ARE READY!" We hear a voice from the kitchen. "Looks like our little conversation is over then. I'm going to help amy with the snacks." He winks then slowly gets up.

I know we flirt for fun but that didn't seem playful. And I think I kind of liked it. No Nancy, that is just your broken heart speaking. You can't possibly have feelings for your childhood bestie... can you?
