Alex POV:
So I proably live is the asshole of Washington.
Welcome to Skysdale, situated on the eastern side of Washington and sort of in the middle. Population of about 7 (okay so realistically it's somewhere up to 4,000).
There's a few houses, a few people, a tiny little town, and many many trees.Personally I don't mind the trees I'm in the forests whenever I possibly can, I step out my front door and I'm already in the forest.
It's not amazing, I mean it's far from being LA. It's boring, it's dull, but it's home."Miss Charles would you like to answer the question?" Mr Peterson snapped me out of my day dream.
Crap! What did he even ask in the first place?I slowly turned my head away from the window and looked for hope in the eyes of Becca in the desk desk to me. She looked away from me and let me suffer. Some best friend you are, you can walk home in the rain coward.
"Ummm, could you repeat the question?" I replied followed with an awkward smile and half laugh. The class was silent and staring at me, great first day of senior year.
"Just as I thought, you weren't listening, too busy watching the rain I see, I expect a significant improvement from you this year Alexandra." Mr Peterson walked back towards the front of the class and continued to babble about Romeo and Julie, after some know-it-all kid answered the question I failed to hear.
Becca was trying so hard not to burst out laughing.
"So not funny Bec." I tried to be all serious when putting my books in my locker after class.
"It's first day back, anyway chill out the day is now over." She beamed.I admired how Becca was always so upbeat every freckle, and blonde strand on her head radiates happiness. I'm pretty sure my pale skin and curly black hair radiates piss off.
She does have a point though today is over, and it's time for the best part. Lacrosse practice.
"Yeah come on let's hurry!" I grabbed Becca's arm and dragged her to the locker rooms.
"That's better! I like Lacrosse mode Alex."
Lacrosse is my sport, I got handed captain last year when my brother Jack graduated. Today I and the team need to pick through the wimps at tryouts."I'm Coach Ross, and this is your captain Alex Charles. Today you will be put through your paces so keep up, there is only room for five of you to make it. Take it away Alex."
"Coach is right. Today I will break you." I smiled at the nervous newbies.
I started them off easy, goal practice. Or as I like to call it, target practice. The newbies get split into two groups and each one takes turn in goal while us existing members launch balls at them. It's important to test their reactions and skills and also lots of fun.
The next three hours I made them do passing, press ups, and lots of running.
"Are we done yet?" A girl asked me after finishing a lap, her face matched her red hair. And there was a brunette lad dripping with sweat looking very hopeful.
"Alright guys! That's it for today. Some of you did great and some of you not so great. I'll post the final list on the notice board on Wednesday, those that make the team I'll see you after school on Thursday. Now pack away and hit the showers." I raised my voice to the group.
The Coach came over to me after practice. "You're just like you're brother. You're going to make a great captain."
"Thanks Coach!" I beamed at him, that's the best thing I've heard all day. And with that I followed the team to the locker room.I drove home on a complete high and pulled my blue Jeep Wrangler into the drive next to other brother Blaine's old pickup, he was home early from work at the garage. The only absence was Dad's Dodge Charger, he was the only one with a nice new car he could afford it as he's a doctor, he believes in earning what you get so us kids worked hard to get money for our cars. Jack's mini was also not here as he was in UCLA. Blaine decided against college and works as a mechanic in town, for twins they are world's apart.
