"Welcome to The Ring!" Mr. Ross' voice echoed through the Ring. "Hope you all know how to use your weapons! The fighting will start in one minute."

Logan gripped her bow tightly, looking at her contestants. The point of the game was to be the last one standing in the Ring. That either meant you hid away, surviving alone, or you contributed to eliminating contestants by killing them.

Logan found herself zoned out then flinched when the announcer said, '31'.

Liv was still wondering where to go when the timer was already halfway through. She started to panic, looking around at the others around her, thinking who she might team up with. She would probably die right when the timer ended.

Losing was inevitable.

Logan positioned herself, ready to run to the woods. If she could get in a tree, she might have a better shot at killing people.

Kimberly waited impatiently.

A loud foghorn sounded, and everyone took off running. Brendon took note where Rylen went, towards the rocks, then ran to a field. Carson had followed him, and together they found a lake.

"Great, now we can shove people in and drown them," Brendon said pulling off his backpack. Every contestant had a lightweight backpack containing matches, a med kit, a flashlight, and enough food and water to last them at least a week. The two boys sat by the lake, unsure what to do.

Brandon ran till he was out of breath, realizing he was somewhere in the woods. He leaned against a tree, trying to catch his breath. If anyone happened to show up, he was done for. Brandon sank to the ground and sat, letting himself rest. Suddenly he heard leaves rustling. Brandon's eyes darted around, looking for the source. Abruptly, a large dog jumped out of the bushes, towards him. Brandon stumbled to his feet and ran. But the dog was faster. Brandon realized this and stopped at a tree. He climbed as fast as he could, which was fast enough. The dog bit his ankle before he could make it up safely. Brandon gritted his teeth in pain and sat in the tree while the dog tried to get to him. Finally, the animal gave up and left. Brandon checked his ankle and saw it had swelled and was bleeding. He had nothing to clean it with, so he gingerly wrapped it in bandages. Brandon laid his head against the tree trunk and sighed. He was already off to a bad start.

Rylen clambered through large rocks, slipping in mud at every step. He took a move towards long green grass and caught his breath when instead of ground underneath his foot, he found air. Rylen fell for a split second before landing in water. His head submerged and he took a huge gulp of water. Rylen flailed his arms around, trying to find breathable air. Finally, he surfaced, coughing and gagging. He pulled himself to a dry rock and lay there, hacking. He was soaking wet and weak. Easy prey. Rylen wiped his wet hair out of his face and saw someone walking further down the creek. They were shouting something at him, but his ears were so stuffed with water, he couldn't hear them. The person became clearer, and he saw it was Lexi. She was approaching him with a spear. Rylen tilted his head to the side, draining the water out of his ear.

"What?"

Lexi stopped where she was, on the other side of the creek from Rylen. "What are you doing?"

"Sunbathing." Rylen answered stupidly. He regretted it because Lexi laughed.
