Eighteen years ago, in some unknown city, a research facility that studies different kinds of monsters and mysterious powers hid under the shadows. The researchers here paid underground organizations to capture monsters for them and visited multiple orphanages to search for potential children that have 'gifts'.

Though, they not only adopted children in the orphanage but also paid parents huge amounts of money to hand over their children. The researchers did not force the ones that refused, but they mostly targeted parents that did not want or despised their children for having these so-called 'gifts'.

One, in particular, was Tatumaki's parent. A single mother on the verge of a meltdown, she despised her children, especially the oldest. She was scared of Tatsumaki, she knew what her child was capable of, and she had multiple plans on getting rid of them. Then one day, two men in white knocked on her door and offered to take her children in exchange for money.

The amount was more than enough to live the rest of her life in luxury, she did not hesitate and chose to hand them in, but the men only accepted the older one, Tatsumaki. She has shown promising progress with her powers and thus was more fitted for their quota.

Tatsumaki hesitantly went with the men, looking at her mother's wide grin and little sister's crying eyes. She did not know what was happening, but she still obediently followed her mother's orders and went with the two men in white.

...

"Gasp! W-what the fuck..!" Tatsumaki awoke from her slumber, for some reason every time she had a nightmare, the same memory from the past appears. She did not want to remember those, it was the last thing in her brain that she wants to remember.

Tatsumaki got out of bed and opened her window blinds, it was already morning, past eight o'clock by the looks of it. She went to the bathroom and fixed her messy hair, not that it changed anything then brushed her teeth. She floated over to the kitchen and made herself a nice cup of coffee then sat on the sofa in the living room.

She opened the television with her telekinesis and browsed the channels for any interesting news. Tatsumaki stopped flicking her finger when something caught her attention, the familiar bald head and plain expression were on the news, along with his disciple. She smirked, it was on the headline currently.

"On today's news, two new S-Class heroes have been welcomed to the Association, any further information about them has been blocked but the Hero Association will officially announce their rank and position in the top brass of S-Class..."

The news continued, and Tatsumaki couldn't help but form a smirk on her face. For some reason, she's been obsessed with helping the bald bastard, yet she still hasn't formally met him. Actually, she planned to change that today. Tatsumaki finished her coffee and changed into the dress she usually wore.

The cabinet opened and multiple clothes of the same appearance were shown hanging on the top. She did not bother picking one since they all looked the same anyways. She closed the closet door and headed outside, she didn't actually use her front door and just went to her balcony and directly flew from there, not forgetting to lock the sliding door before disappearing.

...

"Sensei, the association has tasked us with our first official mission," Genos informed his master, it has been two weeks, yet their first task was only issued now. Saitama was dead bored, he did nothing else but read manga all day long. While Genos was... well he was still Genos so he cleaned every nook and cranny of the tiny apartment they live in. Genos held a spoon in his hand and wore a pink apron, this outfit did not fit his serious-looking face.

Saitama flipped through the pages, sunlight reflecting from his shiny head. Genos peacefully cooked hotpot as he watched his master's actions. He was secretly noting down everything in his super secret notebook that he made doctor Kuseno add to his arsenal.
