The young girl's shoes slapped against the pavement, running toward the scene. It wasn't a serious crime scene, just a small confrontation. Two guys fighting over a woman they both adored."Momma look!" The 5 year old belted while she sped up. "It's a hero momma, a hero!" She exclaimed. Getting closer she heard her mom call for her "Honey, slow down." Her mother called. Y/N listened to her mother and stopped. She's watched enough SVU, probably not the best show for a child though.
"Momma," She drawed out, "Hurry! I'll miss Gang Orca!" Y/N jumped up and down waiting for her mother to catch up. As soon as her mother got close enough, she grabbed her hand and ran as fast as her little legs could carry her.
Gang Orca had been a hero for a few years now. He made a great impression on small kids and teens. When they got as close to the hero as possible, the child bounced on her tippy toes.
She stared with stars in her eyes. "Momma look! Momma look! It's him! It's him!" She blared in delight. Her favorite hero was right in front of her and she definitely showed it.
The Pro-Hero looked over at the girl and her mom. He wasn't surprised he had a fan base. He was surprised that his fan base even reached foreign countries. He saw the American older woman and her daughter. His reach was quite far.
"Mister Orca!" Y/N called, wanting to get his attention. He already stared at them, so getting his attention wasn't hard. He confidently walked over. "Hello young one." He said. She gasped and began crying tears of joy. "Mister Orca, can you please sign my journal! Please!" She dug in her moms purse looking for the notebook. Her mom sighed but looked grateful.
Gang Orca watched until she finally grabbed it. He slightly chuckled as she whipped tears away before handing him the book. She grabbed a pen from her mom and shoved it toward the hero.
He took the journal and pen, skillfully wrote a well practiced signature on the paper. "Can I get your name to sign this to you?" He asked, and waited for her to respond. "Y/N! It's Y/N!" She was very giddy. "Momma he knows my name." Y/N whispered to her mother. Her mom let out a small giggle.
He continued to write in her book. He smiled inwardly, handing her the notebook. It read 'To my biggest, smallest fan, Y/N. You can be anything!' As she slowly read, her heart started to race. She was so excited.
Y/N looked up at the hero once she was done reading. "Mister Orca, can I be a hero like you? I want to make people as happy as you made me today!" She asked. Her mother looked shocked. She knew her daughter adored hero's but she never thought she'd wanna be one.
"Uhm sweetie, are you sure?" Her motherly instincts were to protect her child. Gang Orca crouched down to her level and spoke in a stern but calm voice. "I don't know Y/N, can you be a hero? In my opinion, anyone can be a hero, but do you have the drive and determination to get what you want?" He was serious. He knew that what he said would stick with this child for a long time, so he made the words count.
The young girl stared for a second and pondered. This was a big question for a small child. "If I can make people as happy as I am right now," she paused and grabbed her moms hand, "then I'll do whatever it takes! I can also protect my momma!" She looked at her mother whose eyes were watery.
The hero looked at the child and knew she'd be a great hero one day. "I never asked ma'am, but what's your name?" The hero asked the woman, who bent down to hug her young daughter. She picked her daughter up, and she replied, "L/N, L/N Evelyn." Evelyn stood up with her small kid and shook his hand.
"Well Mrs. L/N, your child will be a great hero one day." He was genuine and honest. Holding her daughter, who held the notebook tight, she laughed and said "I know Mister Orca, I know."
After short goodbyes, and some tears, the mother and daughter pair left for their original destination, the clothing store. Y/N needed school supplies and clothes.
As they entered the building, they looked up to find the children's section. After Evelyn spotted it they walked towards the kids clothes. As her mom picked out a dress or two, Y/N looked at the shoes that were right next to the clothes. She noticed Gang Orca themed shoes and knew she had to get them.
Y/N called for her mom and showed her the shoes. "Momma, I have to get them! He's my favorite hero!" She pleaded to her mom. Evelyn sighed, but not a disappointed one. She was relieved that her daughter was going to do something great one day.
After checking out, they walked home. Y/N insisted on almost everything being Gang Orca, with a few All Might and Endeavor things.
Half way through the walk home, Y/N was tired and made her mom carry her home, along with the bags. She knew her mom was strong so she wasn't worried. Evelyn's quirk, Devotion, makes her stronger when she holds or is touching something she loves.
Arriving home, Evelyn placed the bags on the counter and went to her child's room to lay her down. After she placed her child down to sleep, she sat on the side of her bed and pushed hair out of her face. "You'll be a great hero, Y/N, I just know it." She placed a kiss on her kids head and tucked her in. Standing next to the door, she said one more thing before she left. "Sleep well my future hero."
