Demons and Wizards

Chapter 2

Zion woke to a loud noise outside the door. He got up fast and went into the bathroom. The door opened and three people walked in. One lay down on the bed.

"You two may go," Kace said.

"Let us know if you need anything young prince," Jax said.

"I will Jax thank you," Kace said.

"We will leave now," Bex said.

Once they left Zion slowly came out of the bathroom. Kace sat up and looked at him.

"It will be dark soon. I'll be able to sneak you out then," Kace said then got up and went over to the wardrobe.

Zion stood near the bathroom door. Kace grabbed some clothes and went back over to the bed. He sat down on what looked like a cloak.

"You will need that when we leave," Kace said.

"Why...I...thank you," Zion said.

"No problem. Father thinks demons are evil but I've met some that are quite friendly and you also seem to be like them. So there is no reason for you to suffer," Kace said.

"I didn't mean to bump into the noble king. I tripped," Zion said looking down.

"My father has never liked demons. He believes that they are gonna kill us and take over the palace," Kace said.

Kace and Zion talked for a couple of hours when Jax and Bex walked in. Kace stood up and handed Zion the cloak.

"Are you ready young prince," Bex asked.

"Yes let's go," Kace answered.

Bex lead the way while Kace and Zion followed. Jax stayed behind the prince and Zion to make sure no one notices. Once they cleared the palace they hid near the gate.

"Young prince. His majesty put extra knights around as the demons were supposed to be celebrating something," Jax said.

Kace lifted his hand and a small glow appeared beside them. A small furry black and white creature appeared.

"Hello master," the creature said.

"Viotto I need you to see how many knights are near the gate. Try not to get caught," Kace said.

"Yes master," Viotto said then flew up into the sky towards the gate.

After a few minutes, Viotto came back. He landed near Kace.

"There is 4 master but I have put them to sleep. You can sneak out now," Viotto said.

Bex lead the way again while the others followed. Whenever they saw a guard Kace had Viotto put them to sleep. After about thirty minutes they made it to the small town outside the wall. Zion stayed near Kace while they walked around. Other demons backed away or bowed while the wizards just bowed. Kace sighed as they walked into a small store. He told Zion he could get whatever he wants. Zion hesitated then looked around. He found a small stuffed dog that looked like the dog he took care of growing up. Zion went over to Kace and showed him. Kace lead Zion to the shopkeeper and bought the small toy.

"Thank you," Zion said.

"No problem," Kace responded then handed him a small object.

"What's this," Zion asked.

"Just keep it with you. If my father's guards bother you again just show them this," Kace answered.

"Oh alright," Zion said and smiled.

"Young prince we should head back," Jax said summoning his familiar.

"Something isn't right," Bex said summoning his familiar as well.

"Alright. Zion stay safe. I'm sure we will meet each other again," Kace said summoning Viotto.

Zion smiled and nodded at Kace who smiled back then left with Jax and Bex. Zion stood there for a bit then turned to head home. But just as turned around he was hugged from behind.

"Zion I'm so glad your alright," the person said.

"Phoenix can you let me go please," Zion said.

Phoenix released Zion as Annaliese and Clementine walked over. Clementine noticed the small stuffed animal in Zion's hands.

"Where'd you get that," Clementine asked.

"There," Zion answered pointing at the store behind him.

"How," Annaleise asked.

"Kace bought it for me after we ate and walked around. He had to leave though so I was headed home," Zion answered.

"Who Kace," Phoenix asked.

"He's the prince. He isn't like his father though. He saved my life and treated my wounds," Zion said.

Phoenix looked at the others then back at Zion.

"Let's just go home," Phoenix said.

The others agreed then headed home. Once they got there Xander ran over to Zion and hugged him. Zion hugged him back and then went to their room. Xander went over and laid down on the bed and eventually fell asleep. Zion lay in his bed thinking of all the things that could have happened if Kace hadn't been there when he was.
