Biology was inside a greenhouse at the back of the school, the teacher was Mrs. Illburrow, a short, black-haired teacher who wears glasses. She was laid-back and calm. She was sitting behind a table, in the corner of her greenhouse were some cages and some potted plants, particularly large potted plants.
The Spell classroom shared the bright pink that most of the walls had, and there were desks, unlike Music class. The teacher was Ms. Revin, she had ginger hair, and she was very tall. Very, very tall. In one of the corners of the room was a bunch of spare wands, but my parents already bought one.
My Potion-making teacher was Mr. Spik, he was shorter than me, that's for sure. He was very cheerful and optimistic. His room was mostly brown and wood, the flooring being a brighter shade than the walls, he stood on a stool, behind a podium, next to a cauldron. There were tinier cauldrons for every student.
Flight class was, well, outdoors, unsurprisingly. The stone flooring was checkered in gray and a darker shade of gray. There were doors on both sides of the class. The teacher was Ms. Flenten, she wore green, light clothing, probably because she needed her large eagle wings free. She started off class by flying down and talking about the common mistakes of flying, like forgetting to keep flapping your wings while doing something else, or trying to fly on a particularly windy day. "Just remember to fly as much as you can." She said, "The more you do it, the more it becomes a subconscious action, the more you can do while you fly."
I was within my dorm, on the only couch there, my phone connected to a charging cord. I was looking out the window behind the couch, watching the courtyard. Some of the students were still walking about. One had sky blue hair and a white shirt hidden under his jacket, another had a t-shirt with the designs of dark green leaves and vines which went well with her dark green hair. Someone had bird wings protruding out of a sleeveless blue shirt, with baggy pants and sandals. As I wait for my phone to return to life, I watched everyone who walked around outside and tried to guess what they were doing this late at night. I could see the full moon above the walls of this academy.
I yawn, finally becoming aware of how I'm going to fall asleep before 11:00 PM. I turn away from the window and grab my phone, its only 50% charged. Most of the phones here have this odd design choice, when they die, you have to charge them to 100% to use them again. It's been widely complained about, but nobody in that company has removed it yet.
I unplug my phone and head over to my bed. It's a bottom bunk, next to a table with a charging port on it, someone else having taken one of the plugs on the charging port. I plug in my phone, pull the covers over myself, and fall asleep ten minutes later.
I wake up on my own, half of the students are getting up, the other half are still asleep. I spend a good few minutes just laying in my bed, then I shuffle out of bed and pull my school uniform out of my bag. I walk over to the bathrooms and pick out a stall for me to change in. When I come back, the rest of the students have woken up, and one of them is actively panicking as they get their clothes out. I walk out of the dorm and down the halls.
Biology is already freaking me out, Mrs. Illburrow introduced us to a large flytrap, she said it was called the "Tricky Maneater." Apparently, they're all over Thramblilik Forest, which isn't very far from the academy. They hide in small buds, which are apparently hard to notice, they can cling on trees, walls, and ceilings, and attack anything that draws near. She told us that this was the tamest monster hiding in those forests, and that we "better get used to these things if we want to pass this class."
I was taken out of my thoughts by the sound of something flying past the window to my left. When I turned my head, it was already gone, but it flew back again quickly. I then clearly saw that it was another student on a broom.
She had pink hair, put into two pigtails on the sides of her face, which held an expression of severe panic. She had a brown, sleeveless coat on, and a snow white undershirt, she wore beige pants and dark brown slip-ons. Her hands were griped tightly on the broom as she wound up rocketing past the window again.
I hope she makes it to her next class on time.
I see her again in my potion making class, she ran into the classroom, heavily disheveled and talking to the teacher about her flying class. Does Ms. Flenten teach some of her students how to ride brooms? I know that I'm not going to learn to ride brooms, my entire flying class consists of kids with wings. Anyways, that class, Mr. Spik taught us about some of the common ingredients we were going to use in class, but if we were going to stay in one place all our lives, we'd have to sell the potions we made in this class.
Lunch is just after Potions, the courtyard has many blue tables out, with many students sitting on them. The floor is the same kind of stone as the stairs leading up to the school. Large, pink walls line the courtyard. The cafeteria itself has a white, checkered flooring. There are large windows peering out of the cafeteria, with no glass to prevent the wind from blowing in. The tables in here are red and rectangular, and there are less students sitting on them then the circular tables outside, so I take a seat inside.
What was up with that girl?
