"Hello, Melody."

"Hey Hermione," I gave Hermione a small wave as she came up beside me, a bunch of books in her hands, "Whatchya got there?"

It has been a few weeks since the troll incident and we've been slowly adjusting to our new life at Hogwarts. Adrian's been thriving in potions, as that has always been a special interest of his, as well as becoming buddies with so many different people at Hogwarts. Most notable is his friendship with Hagrid.

Oh my god, I didn't think I'd one day get to see the literal definition of the world's nicest giant, and yet that is the best way to describe Hagrid. He had come up to me and Adrian one day just to talk to Adrian about some sort of mythical creature he was helping with. I don't know how or where Adrian had met Hagrid, but as soon as I met the man, he quickly wormed his way into my cold dead heart.

Anyway, I have baking days with Hagrid when I get the urge to bake something. He always has some sort of new recipe for us to try and it is always a mess afterward.

Worth it though.

I've also gotten a lot closer with Hermione because of the troll incident. We both loved books and we both were surrounded by chaotic boys. How can we NOT become friends?

"I managed to find a section in the library with old wizard stories," Hermione picked up the book on top of her pile, holding it out to me, "From the legends of Merlin to the creation of Hogwarts itself, there is so much there to read. I even found a muggle section that has some muggle classics in it."

"They have a muggle section?" I took the book from Hermione, intrigued by what she found.

The book was in terrible condition with the cover not in the most pleasant state. I couldn't even read the title.

"Yes, I was shocked as well! Sadly, I had already read quite a few of them so there won't be anything new."

"I might have some books for you."

Hermione whipped to face me so fast I thought she was gonna get whiplash, "Do you mean that?!"

"Sure, why not," I shrugged, handing Hermione back her book, "I managed to snag a couple of my books from home that I can let you borrow if you'd like?"

Hermione looked like she was going to explode with euphoria, "Melody you just made my day! This is just what I needed after what happened earlier!"

"What happened earlier?"

Hermione sighed, slumping slightly, "Draco and his goons were being terrible earlier. I was just trying to check out books and they kept saying the snarkiest things."

"Draco?" I crossed my arms, my left pointer finger slowly starting to tap, "That name sounds familiar."

"Probably from how much he brags about his heritage," Hermione rolled her eyes as we approached the great hall, "He's a pureblood wizard."

"Pureblood?" We entered the great hall, which only a few kids in it who were studying or playing chess, "Those exist?"

"Yes," Hermione slammed her books on the table, anger seeping from her, "And they can be stuck-up and pretentious pigs."

My jaw dropped. Out of all the time that I've known Hermione, which wasn't long still, I've never seen her so worked up about something. Maybe for an upcoming exam but nothing like this.

"I'm sorry," Hermione sat down, tension leaving her shoulders as she opened her book to a random page, "I guess he is just getting on my last nerve."

"Don't be sorry," I sat by Hermione, setting a reassuring hand on her shoulder, "It's better to let it out instead of letting emotions build up over time. I should know."
