It was the next morning and Jeremy had invited Lex over to hang out. They both sat upstairs in his bedroom. Jeremy was reading his ancestor's, Johnathan Gilbert, journal to see if he mentioned any Viking establishments the founders may have torn down. Lex had a map of Mystic Falls out, circling spots that would have been important parts of the Viking Village.

Jeremy starts to read aloud a passage from the journal he finds interesting, "I live in fear. It consumes me. In the early evening when I see the sun begin to fade, the fear comes, because I know that the night brings death."

They both went quiet for a moment, processing, before Lex bluntly stated, "Well, that's depressing." The duo burst into uncontrollable laughter. They fed off of each other's joy as their cackles became silent stomach clutching humor.

Eventually they were able to grasp their emotions and regain self control. Jeremy continued to flip through the journal as Lex got up from her spot on his computer chair and joined him on the bed. She peered over his shoulder reading with him, giving his arm a single tap signifying when she had finished a page.

They sat like that for a while until they reached a point when a loose page fell out from the journal. It was a sketch of a monster.

That's when Jeremy suddenly gets up off the bed and starts rooting through his closet.

Lex sits on Jeremy's bed wondering what he is doing when grabs a box of sketch pads; takes one of them out; grabs a bunch of charcoal pencils; and sits back down on his seat on the bed like nothing happened. Then he starts to draw.

As Jeremy is drawing Lex hears Elena walk by. As the girl looks up she sees Elena smiling at the sight of Jeremy drawing again.

When Elena notices Lex watching her she gives her a toothy grin and signals at her to be quiet. The blonde winks at the human girl before she sneaks away downstairs.

"Jenna, Jeremy's got his sketch pad out."

Jenna turns around to look at Elena in shock. "You're kidding?"

"Nope. He's up there with Lex drawing. But don't say a word. The minute we encourage him, he'll put it away."

"Psychology major. Check that!"

Stefan walks into the parlor room where Damon is staring off into the horizon in deep thought.

"So, any idea of where you'll go?" Stefan asked his older brother.

"I don't know. London, maybe. See some friends."

"You don't have any friends, Damon."

"What! I'm offended Stefan. I have Lex. She even left me a present on our porch. I found it this morning." He gestures to a present box on the table.

Stefan, confused, walks over to the box and opens it. Inside he sees a decapitated head.

Understanding the situation now he frankly states, "Yeah, you and Lex. Definitely not friends."

"You're right, Stefan. I only have you." He finally turns away from the window and walks closer to his younger brother. "So, where are we goin'?"

"We" he gestures between himself and Damon "are not going anywhere. I'm gonna live my life as far away from you as possible."

"But we're a team! We could travel the world together. We could try out for The Amazing Race."

"Mhm, that's funny. Seriously, where are you going? Because we are not staying in this town."
