When Mary Kate introduced you to Elizabeth, the connection was instantaneous. It wasn't that you had anything in common, but it was that the conversations between you lasted for hours. It was almost like an exchange of experiences, but nothing professional, just personal. You became friends who talked to each other every day, until you both realized that you were feeling something more than friendship. But it took Ashley and Aubrey teaming up, to make you both confess your feelings, for you both to start having something more serious.
The touching, hugging, kissing were more than necessary to confirm your feelings for Lizzie, but part of her still made her insecure. It was the part of her that made her anxious. The anxiety attacks were not so frequent since the day you two had met, she felt safe and calm in you. That was what she needed, until the fear began to creep up on her. The fear that one day her work would start to get in the way of your relationship, and that one day you would wake up and realize that you didn't love her enough to have a relationship. She was afraid that she wouldn't give you the love and attention that she knew you deserved.
It was one of those nights when Lizzie felt anxiety. Her heart was racing, her hands were sweaty, the walls of the room were getting smaller. The air began to get harsh. She didn't hear you coming, so when you entered the room and saw her sitting on the floor with her hand on her chest, you rushed over to her, kneeling beside her.
"Hey, my love, what's wrong?" You whispered, sliding your hands through her blonde hair.
She looked at you, but couldn't say anything. You noticed that her breathing was heavy, and then you remembered something she had taught you once. You held her face in your hands, forcing her to look at you.
"Tell me three things you can see." You said, stroking her cheek.
Lizzie took a hard breath, she held it in your arms, looking into your eyes.
"You. Your eyes..." She whispered.
"No, I want three things of the bedroom, my love."
She looked around, noticing a few things, even if her own vision didn't help much.
"A painting, a mirror, a lampshade." She said slowly. You pressed your lips over hers, before you pulled away she brought her hand to the back of your neck, "Kiss me."
"No, my love, you are vulnerable." You said, leaning your forehead against hers.
"Please, I need to." She said, holding back her tears. "I need you to say you're here, that you're not leaving." You pulled away to look at her. "Say you're not here for a short time, that you're not a passing thing."
You kissed her forehead, sat down facing her, and pulled her onto your lap. She wrapped her arms around your neck, while you wrapped your arms around her waist. Looking into her eyes, you noticed that there were tears.
"I'm not going anywhere, my darling." You said, giving a comforting smile to Lizzie, who sighed. "I will never waste your time, you are the only one I run to at the end of the night." She closed her eyes as she felt his caress on her waist. "I don't hide anything from you, I know you and you know me. And when you think I'm not here, I'll be here..." You kissed her forehead. "And here." You leaned in, kissing over Lizzie's chest, noticing her heartbeat calm down. "I'm here."
"Even on my worst days?" She said, looking at you, with a small sad smile on her lips.
"On your darkest days, in your heaviest rainstorm." You stated looking into her eyes.
She held your face, giving you a brief kiss on your lips, and then rested her forehead on yours. You hugged her tightly, and she let out a relieved sigh.
"I'm here for you too." She whispered, and you smiled and responded with just a sound. "I love you."
"I love you, my darling."
