"This is stupid."

"What? No it's not!"

"Wait, sorry, I got that wrong. This is VERY stupid."

"What? You- just hurry up, or we won't have enough time!"

Alvis grabbed Camilla's wrist, pulling the fox monster along as she complained. Unfortunately for the girl, her "friend" (as Alvis had so dubbed himself) was acting VERY over-the-top about a new comic book and collectors store that had just opened up, and was desperate to see it before their upcoming assessment.

Unfortunately, being the silly-cat he was, Alvis had decided to drag along Camilla (for company) exactly one hour before the test was due to begin. Which, of course, left the girl in a very grumpy mood as she was dragged through the streets.

"I reeeeeeally hate you right now, you know?" Camilla said, grunting as she stumbled over a stray stone. "I swear, you couldn't have waited ONE MORE DAY TO DO THIS-"

"Because all the good stuff will be gone by tomorrow!" Alvis proclaimed, turning a corner. "'Sides, it's a stress reliever for me! I don't wanna do bad on the test, and neither do you, so stressing isn't an option!"

"This alone is making me stress," Camilla grumbled under her breath. She continued to let herself unwillingly be led, until Alvis finally stopped with an excited gasp. Looking up, the fox monster could now see she was in front of an impossibly big store, inside the windows rows upon rows of comics and figurines.

"Oh NO," she said in horror.

"Oh YES!" Alvis exclaimed, practically jumping for joy. "It looks SO COOL! C'mon, we gotta go inside!"

"That was the plan, wasn't it genius?"

"Oh shush, you."

***

If Camilla had thought the outside of the shop was bad, it was nothing compared to the inside.

From floor to ceiling, shelves were lined with a countless collection of comics, graphic novels, manga, and who knows what else. Cabinets were practically everywhere, displaying "priceless" character figurines and collectibles, kept in mint condition an not to be touched. At all. And if you thought THAT was terrible, the inhabitants were just as bad, ranging from lanky teens to thirty-something year old men.

What a nightmare.

Camilla absentmindedly picked up random volumes of something-or-other, then immediately put them back. Alvis, having run off to look for a "VERY SUPER RARE AMAZING" comic, had managed to disappear a while before, leaving Camilla lost in the store with only twenty minutes left to get back to the college for the test.

Cursing under her breath, the student turned yet another corner, gasping as the wind got knocked out of her. With an 'Oof!', she fell to the floor.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" said a voice. "Are you okay? Here, let me help you up-"

Taking the strangers hand, Camilla pulled herself up, rubbing the back of her head.

"What the hell was that for?" she said angrily, glaring at the person in front of her. "Watch where you're going idiot!"

The boy (she could now identify) seemed quite surprised at her reaction, before laughing. "Sorry about that,' he said. "I wasn't thinking quite straight. It's just really cool here, y'know? So much to see!"

"Hmm. Not really."

Now that Camilla wasn't spitting mad, she could actually pay attention to what the guy looked like.

From the looks of it, he was only a few years younger than her. His fur seemed to be different shades of orange (yuck), lighter for his main fur and starker for his hair. Two bright blue eyes were crinkled at the corners as he smiled, adjusting his glasses from their crooked angle.

She wasn't gonna lie, this guy was... kinda cute. more so if he wasn't orange, but still.

"Uh... is something wrong miss?" the boy asked, snapping Camilla back to reality. "You're staring at me pretty intensely..."

"Oh, sorry," the fox monster said, shaking her head. "Uh, what's your name? So I can yell at you with more context, that is."

The boy laughed again, holding out a hand. "Maxwell. Maxwell Connor. Nice to meet you, I guess? Again, so sorry about that, I swear it wasn't on purpose."

"Camilla. Camilla Anne Fox," Camilla said, taking his hand and giving it a firm shake. "You're forgiven, for now."

Maxwell grinned, his eyes seeming to twinkle as he did so. "Camilla... What a nice name! It suits you."

The young lady couldn't help but smile back at him. Maybe he wasn't so bad-

Her yellow eyes widened as she saw the clock on the nearby wall.

"Oh dammit! I'm gonna be late!" she shrieked. "Look mate, I seriously gotta go. And if you come across a black tabby, tell him to get his ass back to the college immediately, okay?"

Maxwell blinked in surprise, before nodding. 'Sure thing. See you around I guess?"

"Yep, see ya!"

And with that, Camilla sped like a rocket out of the shop, leaving the boy alone in the aisle.

After a moment of stunned silence, Maxwell shook himself with a small chuckle. 'What an strange girl,' he thought, brushing himself off as he hummed a tune.

He couldn't help but feel as thought it wouldn't be the last time he saw her, not by a long shot. His strange life had just got more interesting.

...so yeah, I got a bit carried away with that... hope that was satisfactory Pastel! I wanted to try and write a first meeting story for these two, considering they're practically polar-opposites. Oh, and I just wanted to add in Alvis to fill in some gaps. Hope that's okay!

Anyway, I had heaps of fun with this! I seriously love all your characters, they're so gosh-darn awesome and cute! >w<

If I can, I'll totally do more stories for them in the future, payment or not <D

Okay, gotta go to bed now, bye bye!!
