Vampire Love

Chapter 1

Lucy sighed as she looked around her beloved castle. She loves everything honestly, but sometimes it's too much. Especially now where she is coming of age to choose who her husband will be. The problem is though, none of the other vampire suitors are bearable to be around, and a human just won't do. That would cause way too many complications as well as a long agonizing speech. You see... here is her backstory.

Over 270 years ago, Layla and Jude Heartfillia got married. Jude was the prince in the Magnolia area while Layla was a Lady to the Hutchinson household. Her father was the best duke in the kingdom, he could always be accounted for. At the time, Magnolia was at war with many other countries, so there wasn't a way to marry a royal without huge backlash and a big civil war in their own country.

So, the only solution to that was to marry inside the country. To keep the bloodline as pure as possible, the soon-to-be princess had to be a high class member. Jude had no issue with this at all, as he had been going after Layla for some time. Layla, ready to pay back her country in any way she could thanks to all they did for her family, happily accepted the offer. So, March 27th, x653 the Heartfilia wedding occurred.

113 years after the wedding, Layla Heartfilia found out she was pregnant. This was years after the war had ended and they had won, bringing more countries into their own, making Magnolia one if not the biggest country at the time. At the time, Jude's father was stepping down from his position as King and was passing it over to Jude making Layla the Queen and their baby the future prince/princess. On July 1, x767 Princess Lucy Heartfilia was born and welcomed by many into the world.

Many years went by with the royal family spending all the time together they could, without inferring with each other's affairs. Lucy Heartfilia had to be trained properly to be a princess as well as eventually take over the kingdom. Layla Heartfilia was in charge of many events and seeing what the people needed to survive each season. Jude Heartfilia had to deal with every national affair that popped up, so it was indeed hard to find time together. When Lucy Heartfilia was 35 years old, Layla Heartfilia suddenly died. Nobody knew what happened, or if they did, it was never told to Lucy. All they knew was that she disappeared. No one knew how, no one knew why, and no one knew where.

Which led Lucy to be where she is today, 121 years old. It has been 86 years since Queen Layla Heartfilia has disappeared and been considered dead. Which was for the best in a way. If she was found now, she would have been killed for treason and running away since there was no sign of anyone forcing her to go. Then again, there was no sigh at all. Sadly though, after the disappearance of her mom, her father changed. He wasn't the worst, but he wasn't the best. He sure didn't spend as much time with her as he did in the past.

She knew he changed for sure after he brought up her taking over the throne 4 months ago. He loved being King for as far as she could remember, especially from the stories told. Plus, most of the royal bloodline didn't pass it on until they were well beyond 1000 years old. He was barely 538! It didn't help that he wanted her to receive it by the end of the year, and as it was now, it was March. Which may not seem like a rush to most, but she honestly had nobody in mind, and she had to have it planned before she could be wed.

And this leads her to where she is now...

Thinking about it sent shivers down Lucy's spine. She was not ready to be a Queen, she knew this. She barely felt like a princess as it was. She had been doing the duty for years now, but things always changed. Looking over to her mother's portrait she sighed. "Mother, what will I do? I haven't had you to teach me anything. Where did you go...?" Looking down and shaking her head to get the tears to go away, she turned on her feet to head to her room. She still had some things she had to do before she started searching for her future husband. Little did she know, she was going to meet him a lot sooner than intended.
