Moon Bay is based on a very real place, Lou Moon Resort, in the Axim Western Region of Ghana. The adjoining 'Big Beach' of the story is fictitious, but based on a spot farther east along the coast. Here are some of my own photos, as well as one from the Lou Moon website.
