the apartment was darkened upon taeyong's entrance, fat droplets of water falling from the brim of his hat as he looked to the ground. he slipped out of his wet shoes, leaving them on the mat by the door, his pupils widening drastically to conform to the newfound darkness of the room.

he silently walked into the apartment a bit more, wandering into the kitchen- that was dark as well- to read the dim green glow of the oven clock.

12:37am.

the thrum of the rain increased harshly, much as it had been doing throughout the night, always calming down a few minutes after.

it seemed there was not a singular thing to make noise, leaving the apartment in deafening silence save for the harsh rain against the windows. taeyong would be lying if he said he wasn't used to the silence.

he had actually walked here from his own apartment, not bothering to check what time it had been when he left. he didn't grab his phone, simply left it on the counter and left his house, with nothing but himself.

just to find an empty apartment, just as he would've, and should've, expected.

taeyong didn't know why he felt he could rely on doyoung anymore, yet something in his mind had told him that things would feel better if he went to his boyfriend's house.

he had been feeling particularly melancholy today, and being alone had only made the feeling worse. but realizing doyoung wasn't home only made that feeling burrow deeper into his chest.

taeyong was tired. he was upset, lonely.

he didn't have his phone, so it's not like he could call his boyfriend to ask where he was. the more that he thought about it, maybe he didn't want to know where doyoung was.

he was beginning to even question his own judgement on staying with doyoung, yet he just couldn't bring himself to break the final word and leave.

in a way, he relied on doyoung's presence for a bit of remaining sanity, and he knew the same was returned for him. the two seemed the most unlikely to be in a relationship due to the vast difference in their personalities, the way they acted and who they hung out with.

taeyong was a reserved soul, keeping to a few friends, and even then, he barely told them anything. he didn't like to tell anyone anything, opting to keep it locked up as to not burden everyone else.

doyoung seemed to be friends with everyone and anyone, staying out until ungodly hours of the night doing who knows what. it scared taeyong, but there was nothing he could do against it.

he knew doyoung didn't want to be worried about before they became involved, and yet that's exactly what taeyong had trouble avoiding. he cared too much, and in the end it came back to bite him, as it always did.

the white haired boy walked slowly to the couch before curling up in a corner of it, contemplating unfolding one of the blankets. he eventually did, resting his heavy and slightly damp head against one of the soft pillows doyoung had laid out.

-

taeyong shifted in his sleep as there was movement in the apartment, the front door being unlocked and pushed open violently. he jumped and his eyes shot open, glancing around the dark living room of what seemed to be an unknown place, until he recalled he had gone to doyoung's apartment.

he sat in silence as his boyfriend stepped into the apartment, closing the door behind him almost just as harshly as a moment ago. taeyong could hear the water dripping off of doyoung's clothes, watching with round and worried eyes from the darkness of the couch.
