The First Day

It was just a normal November Thursday in my Spanish 1 class, except that I had to leave early for a dive meet.

I sat down in my normal spot, in front of the door, just after getting the assignment paper for the video we had to watch and take notes over.

I was just getting out my normal supplies, pencil, paper, journal, when all of a sudden this boy walks in.

Obviously new, he had long brown hair that swept so perfectly over his face. He was extremely thin, wearing an Asking Alexandria shirt with the smallest size skinny jeans possible, but still found the need to wear a belt to keep them upright. To top it off he was wearing a rather largish Peirce the Veil jacket with the lettering font from their "selfish Machines" album. He was someone I could tell, just by looking at him, that I needed to know.

"Class, we have a new student that transfered from Marcus High. His name is Andrew, we need to make him feel welcome," mrs. Abbott explained with a smile. "Andrew, you will be sitting here," she said as she pointed to his seat.

He sat down, and I couldn't help but stare. This boy, this perfectly handsome boy, is the one of my dreams I could just feel it.

Don't be weird Brittney, that's the last thing you need is another boy to be scared away because you can't control yourself.

Okay, here is some background about me. first off, I'm not very good with boys. I am the weird chubby nerd who tried to become popular by making the 8th grade cheer squad, only to find out I could hardly fit into my uniform. Yes, I have had boyfriends before, but they never wanna seem to stay. I took it out on stress eating and never lost my baby fat. I became depressed in the 6th grade and suicidal in the 7th. I was always bullied and if there was even a slight chance a boy even liked me, I went for it. I had multiple guy friends and only one best girl friend, her name was Bailey. I don't know, there was just something bout boys that I just really liked, not just as boyfriends but they were really good at being best friends too. sorry for the very jumbled back story but yeah, that's pretty much my life.

Andrew started walking up to the front after realizing he had to get the assignment aswell.

okay, get him to notice you, complement his shoes, vans... vans...

I walked up to him, and I felt myself get hot and red wih each step.

"Um... Andrew right? Hi....my name is Brittney," I stammered.

"Hey," he said as he flashed a smile, showing off his braces.

"I um... I really like your vans," I said stupidly as I flashed my simple black vans against his maroon ones. "Cool people have the same fashion sense," I smiled awkwardly.

He laughed as he grabbed his paper and sat back down, and my heart melted.

It's been three months since my breakup with Bryce. He asked me to homecoming with chocolate and a rose, and we just sorta became a couple. Then on the night of homecoming, he stole my first kiss, and surprisingly, my heart aswell. He broke up with me a few weeks later, and I was heartbroken. He said he wasn't ready to be in a relationship, but I never realized how stupid this was because well, why would you as a freshmen with your first boyfriend? I took love too seriously he said he would come back when he was ready. So I never even looked at another guy the same way... until now.

The rest of class seemed to go by in seconds, and the whole time I couldn't help but stare at him. Every move he made just gave me butterflies.

"Brittney, you need to leave for your meet. Good luck!" Mrs. Abbott called as I began to gather my things and head out the door.

"Bye Mrs. Abbott, have a nice day."

As I walked out the door I happened to look at Andrew, and I swear I saw him look at me, smile, and wave bye...
