I once knew
A little girl
She said she wanted
To show me the world
In her heart
Was a hidden light
I saw the world
Through her eyes
Everyday
Became a fairytale
A place where promises
Would never go stale
Happily ever afters
Did exist
True love
Wasn't just a myth
She took me to places
Beyond the stars
Galaxies hidden
In the dark
For the first time
I could finally see
This little girl
Had set me free
But when it hit her
There was nothing I could do
Deep in my heart
I knew she'd be leaving very soon
As the time drew closer
She sang in my ear
A sweet little melody
Only I could hear
She told me
That she'd be alright
It was time for this angel
To learn how to fly
Well, I guess
This ends my poem
God has come
To take her home
Everyone said
She was just one girl
But to me
She was the world
This is about a girl who died of cancer
