21. Swordtail

Swordtail is an izuchi and Raiden's pet. He has orange and white fur, green eyes, black claws, and scythe tail. Swordtail also dawns a collar with a lightning bolt shaped tag. Unlike his species, Swordtail doesn't have an extended middle claw.

Swordtail was saved by Raiden while on a hike in Mythtropilis as an egg from poaching birds. The young Lombax decides to keep him and feed him. Swordtail grows quickly with his extensive feeding and becomes a young adult within a few months. He becomes a strong and loyal follower to Raiden and her team.

Despite being a wild animal, Swordtail is docile and loyal to Raiden and her friends. Though he does have a wild and merciless instinct, Swordtail is friendly, playful, and jovial. He is fiercely protective over his master and friends, usually taking charge of dangerous situations. Swordtail is also highly intelligent as shown seemingly understanding Ice Blister and Raiden's commands, despite being different species.

Swordtail is fiercely loyal towards Raiden and will defend her in anyway he can. He dislikes people who threaten his master and usually hisses at them, regardless if they are friend or foe.

Swordtail and Ice Blister work very well together, as seen devising plans, and giving cues and commands through facial and body expressions.

Dagger seems to be envious towards Swordtail, believing Raiden loves the izuchi more than him. However, Swordtail is loyal and willing to protect Dagger and seems to enjoy his company.

Swordtail is on good terms with Raiden's family and friends except for Quark who is frightened of the beast. 

Azimuth got on Swordtail's bad side when they first met. The older lombax threatened Raiden's life after she accidentally attacked his pet dragon Sprite. Swordtail roared furiously and threw a rock at him using his tail. Azimuth was slightly fazed by the animal but the two do become on good terms.

Trivia:

Swordtail is named after his razor-like tail.

Unlike his species, Swordtail doesn't have an extended middle claw.

Also, while izuchis have orange eyes, Swordtail has green.

Next to Ice Blister, Swordtail appears to be the most intelligent of the mythical creatures. He is able to understand verbal and cued commands, he has a tendency to sense danger before it comes, he uses discarded items to his advantage, and even knows a verbal threat when he hears one.
