Just another normal day, right?

I woke up to the sun shining through my window into the corner of my eye.

I groaned as I sat up, I saw my blue sleeved uniform that implied I'm in the healing coven hanging on my door knob, 'ah yes, school....again...' I thought as I rubbed my eyes. 'wait....' I thought as I stood up, 'I feel like I had something important today...' I walked to the door knob and grabbed the uniform putting it on. I walked over to my night stand and grabbed a hair brush from it, then I walked over to my full body mirror and looked at myself.

My (h/c) hair was messy and I had bags under my (e/c) eyes form lack of sleep for a couple days, I brushed my hair trying to fix it, it looked a bit better after some brushing but not as good as it usually does.
"Not the best day for me, hm?" I said to myself in the mirror.

I went to grab my bag from near the window but when I looked out, I could see lots of people with hexside uniforms hurrying to get to school, that made me realise I was gonna be late. I slung my shoulder bag over my shoulder and ran out of my room and down the stairs as fast as I could, then I ran out the door and tried to catch up with some of the hexside kids.

Luckily I saw someone familiar, a girl called Willow Park, I met her when one of her plants tried to eat me and ever since then we have been pretty close. I ran up beside her, I slowed down matching her speed as I caught my breath "Goodmorning y/n, woke up late as always I see" she giggled
"Yep! you know me, I need my beauty sleep" I said doing a dramatic hair flip.

"You excited for today? We get our results back from our test, remember?" Willow said excitedly.
"I knew I was forgetting something!" I said "Yes I'm so excited, I know you are gonna get a great score" I beamed
"Thanks, you will too" she smiled.

Soon we approach hexside and when we walked through the doors we saw a bunch of students gathered around a big long score board with everyone's names on it, at the top was the highest scorer for the test and at the bottom was the lowest, as we walked over we saw Willow's friend Gus looking at the huge score borad, his face was filled with glee, he turned to Willow
"Willow! I got 12th place!" Gus said practically jumping up and down, "Wow Gus, I'm so proud of you! I knew you would do great!" she grinned.

She then looked up at the score borad, her eyes travled up and up and up, "7....6....5...4? 4th place! I got 4th place!!" Willow squealed with joy "Willow that's amazing!" I said smiling.
"You should see where you are y/n" she said pointing up
I looked at around the middle thinking I would be there but no, I continued to look up, even my eyes got past Willows name, 3, 2, "1ST PLACE!?" I blurted out.
"y/n! oh my goodness!" Willow said clapping her hands, Gus smiled like he was in the presence of someone really important.
I was above everyone, even Amity Blight, she was always the best, but this year she was 2nd best to me. I couldn't believe it.

"Hello everyone!" The human Luz said to Willow and Gus, they both turned around to look at her and so did I, "What's that?" She asked looking up at the score borad
"Its the test scores, I got 4th place, Gus got 12th and y/n here got 1st" she pointed to me, I waved at her nervously, I had never really talked to the human before, but she seemed quite interesting.

She looked up to the board again, "looks like I'm 13th! just behind you Gus" she smiled, "Oh and Amity is 2nd! I'm so proud of her" she beamed. Luz quickly ran off with a goodbye wave going over to Amity who was at her locker. Just as I turned to Willow I heard a loud screech from the speakers on the walls.
"y/n l/n to the principles office please, y/n to the principles office"
I stood there frozen, "looks like someone's in trouble" Gus teased, Willow punched Gus softly, "I'm sure it's nothing y/n, you'll be fine" she reassured me.

I walked off to the principles office, as I walked through the halls everyone looked at me, I couldn't tell if it because I scored the highest or if it was because I was just called to the principles office, maybe a mix of both. I gulped as I reached the principles office.

I opened the door to see principle bump sitting at his desk with the abomination coven head, Darius, and the bard coven head, Raine standing to the side. Raine smiled as I walked in giving me a small wave, Darius put a hand on Raine's and lowered it, giving Raine a stare that said 'don't be friendly'.
"y/n, I'm so glad you are here" the kind principle said, "I'll let the coven heads talk to you" he said as he got up up walked out closing the door behind him.

"Um, hi?" I said questioningly to the two coven heads.
"Yes Hello," Darius said, "we are here because you scored 1st, and principle bump has told us a lot about you. Emperor Belos was very interested when he heard about you, he thinks you will be a great addition to the emperor's coven."
"We've needed a new healer for a while, the healing coven head can only do so much" Raine announced, Darius nodded in agreement.
"So how would you feel about taking up the position of healer for the emperor's coven?" Darius asked with a fake looking smile.

'that's a big decision' I thought, 'but I have always dreamed of being a coven head, and this is so close to it.' I sighed and looked down at the floor thinking for a minute 'everybody wants to be in the emperor's coven, it's the best thing that could ever happen to you, I have to seize the opportunity'
"I would be happy to join the emperor's coven and be their new healer" I said confidently, Raine looked genuinely happy from this response and Darius just looked pleased that he didn't fail his mission.

"amazing," Darius said "we will meet you here tomorrow to sign some papers and when you are done we will go to the emperor's castle and we will show your office, or what could also be called, a healing room."

"Great! I'll see you tomorrow then" I smiled feeling so accomplished.
Darius grinned and walked out of the room but Raine stayed behind standing in front of me.
"I'm glad you have joined us, you have worked so hard to get here, you deserve this spot" they said with a smile
"Thank you! I'm looking forward to working with you, if we ever do that is" I laughed nervously
"I'm sure I'll have to be healed at some point," they said as they walked out the door, "see you tomorrow" they called out.

I stood there so excited for tomorrow.
'I'm going to join the emperor's coven'
