"Hello, my name is Juniper Woods." he stops writing and holds the erasure of his pencil up to his lips softly.

"Gods, I feel like I'm in some cringy reality TV show. I hate this assignment." he mumbled to himself but nevertheless continued to write.

"I am 20 years old, my hair is brown, but I've dyed it to have black streaks in it. I have dark blue eyes and I'm around 5'7". Sometimes I get made fun of for how I look, though not nearly as much as in high school. Luckily in college it's not on everyone's mind as much. You still have those few select people, though, it's easy to ignore them.

I have one older brother and I'd say we are pretty close. Dad and mom were normally pretty busy, so he took care of me. When it came to English accomplishments, track meets, or even field trips He was always there. His name is Jinx." He paused again, trying to think of what else to write. After a couple of minutes, he continued again.

"When it comes to body types, I'd say that I have a skinny figure for the most part. I run every morning, which helps me think. That's about the only exercise I'd say that I do though." He looked over at the rubric he had been given.

"For the first couple of pages, tell me about yourself, what you look like, the friends you have, and just life in general. I want to get to know you." was written in his professor's neat handwriting. He took a sip of his water before turning back to his laptop.

"When it comes to friends, I'd say that I have two real friends that I actively hang out with. Their names are Reed and Skailen. Skailen, or Skai as he prefers is my roommate, which is how we got to know each other. I'm lucky to get along with him since a lot of people don't really care for their roommates or interact with them for that matter.

It can be difficult sometimes though living with him. We've had a couple fights but nothing too serious. I think it's just the tension of living with someone. Reed on the other hand is someone I met at work.

I work at the campus library, and he's one of the regulars there. You can often find him studying or just reading there. He came up one day asking about a book and we kind of just started talking. To be honest it kind of caught me off guard because I thought he'd be more of a loner type, but apparently, I was wrong. There are a couple of other people I know like Nikole and Ellaina, but they're just some women from my classes. I don't really know them that well." He closed the journal with a sigh.

"I think that's enough for today. I mean I have all semester to do it anyway." He got up from his desk and shut his lamp off. He looked over at his roommate who was already dead asleep and sighed.

"One day I'm going to shove earplugs in his nose to keep him from snoring." he said, putting the rest of his things away.

After he finished cleaning up his desk, he climbed up his bed eventually drifting to sleep.

Around 4am there was a banging sound against the window of Juniper's dorm room. Trying to ignore it he turned over and put a pillow over his head, hoping it wasn't what he thought it was. Nevertheless, the banging continued and, grudgingly, he got up and walked over to the window. He pulled open the curtains and there, flying in the air, was a dragon whelp. Whenever Juniper first saw this he freaked out, but this honestly was a regular occurrence at this point. He sighed and held a handout as if to tell the little dragon to wait. Juniper closed the curtains and silently slipped out of his dorm room.

On a normal day it would be hard to sneak out of the dorms and even harder to sneak in, but since the semester had just started things were still a bit hectic and everyone was still getting used to the new school year. Being Juniper's 3rd year being there, he knew exactly how to avoid all of the security guards so that he could leave.

He slipped out of the dorms and made it outside. There he saw a dragon waiting for him. No matter how many times he saw it, it still didn't feel real. He cautiously approached the young dragon, and even though he knew the dragon was friendly, dragons were known for their temper. At least from the books in the library he had read.

According to the books all dragons had been extinct for many years, and up until a couple weeks ago he thought so too. It was all like a dream to him, only in his wildest dreams had he ever imagined meeting a real-life dragon, and yet here he was.

The dragon trotted up to him and chirped while also showing submissive body language proving it wasn't a threat. Juniper patted the dragon's head softly.

"Hey buddy! It's been a while since I've seen you. What brings you around here?" he continued to softly pet the dragon. The dragon just trilled happily in response while leaning against him.

It had become somewhat of a norm for him and the dragon to take a small walk through the forest before they would finally say goodbye until eventually meeting again, except this time the young dragon started leading him into a new direction. Juniper was confused, but hesitantly followed.

After what felt like an hour of walking the dragon stopped. He turned around and chirped excitedly, his tail swaying slightly. Juniper smiled at the dragon like it was a child who had drawn you something and you didn't know what it was, but you still wanted to appreciate it regardless. The confusion did not last long though, because as soon as he looked up, he was met with thousands of bright and glowing eyes.
