Daryl wouldn't say anything, he just kept shoving the sandwich in his mouth. "What happened Daryl?"
"Nothin" he said, with his mouth full.
He looked at me with his stupid black eye, he was so sad and so tired. I just wanted to hold him.
"You know you don't have to shut me out. I'll look after you."
"I don need lookin after. Leave me alone!" He yelled.
I stared at him and just got up and left.

School was over and Daryl and I had finished detention and were walking home when Merle pulled up.
"Goin huntin wanna come love birds?"
Daryl didn't say anything he just jumped in the blue pickup truck.
"What 'bout you pretty lady? I'll teach ya everythin Daryl hasn't" he winked
I laughed. "I've got homework Merle, and us 'love birds' aren't really getting along." I looked at Daryl who just gave me the finger and faced the other way.
"Suit yerself." He drove off and I walked home.

I never remembered going to sleep, but I remember waking up to knocking on my window.
"What is it D?" I wasn't in the mood to talk to him but as soon as I opened the door he wrapped his arms around me and started crying.. Well more like whimpering, I felt so upset. He always looked like a rock. He alway had his heart guarded. And he just let it all out.
I shut the door and we both just laid on my bed in silence, only hearing a few sniffles every once in a while.
He never said anything but ended up falling asleep. I started playing with his hair, which I loved. And somewhere in between that I fell asleep.
I was awoken to the door opening, I sat up and saw Daryl trying to leave. "Please don't go."
He looked at me and walked back to my bed. I looked at him and said, " you wanna skip school today?"
He just nodded and laid back down.
I laid next to him and rubbed his back until he fell asleep.
I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep. Somewhere in the middle of it he put his arm around me, thinking I was asleep, and pulled me as close as he could get me. I loved it.
"God, you're so beautiful." He whispered in my ear. I smiled, I didn't know if he thought I was asleep or not but I didn't care.
The rest of that day we hung out and I made him food, he said he wanted to teach me how to shoot a crossbow, and I laughed at him.
I also heard him laugh for the first time and it made me so happy.
