Helene the queen was on her knees praying repeating the words, "Deus animam meam." She had to be praying for the 5th time that day, her hair had grown blacker as the years took her spirits she once had.
She held a cross in her hand, she held it so tight, her knuckles were turning whiter than the clouds in the sky, she had tear stains on her face, her and the king had love each other in their relationship and it was gone, and she knew it.
She touched her empty stomach that filled with sorrow, repeating the words still, till she heard a noise.
Mary walked into the chapel and saw her mother, "Lady mother?" She asked, her mom turned around hastily, "What?" She asked with a hoarse voice, "We have a ball this evening, I believe you should be there to make a appearance." She said with so much sincerity in her voice.
"Leave me, I will ready in a few hours." She said turning back to the lord, "Mother, have you been eating?" She heard her mother sigh of annoyance, "I am fasting for the lord, I suggest you do it to, I see you've taken on some weight."
The queen pointed out of jealousy, "I will leave you to praying mother." The girl curtsied and left her mother.
The queen stood up to only to feel her going lightheaded.
-Flashback to when they were young that was not seen-
"You are to ambitious Helene, I recommend you hold your tongue." The then princess anger got the best of her, "No! I am your wife, and the future queen, is it so wrong I know I am destined to fly?" The princess had let her thoughts run wild.
"You will hold your tongue. Or I will do it for you." He threatened her, she stood her ground, "I will become beloved, just you wait your grace."
-End of Flashback-
The queen finally recovered her balance, she held her empty stomach tight, remembering the kicking that was in it not so long ago, she remembered the warmth she felt, till that feeling had passed and all she felt was coldness swept over her.
