The weeks passed slowly after Alen caught me and Jake in that compromising position. I tried to reach out to Alen, but he refused to talk to me. I was consumed with guilt and regret, knowing that I had destroyed our relationship.

One day, I received a message from Alen's best friend, Tom. He asked me to come over to his place, saying that Alen wanted to talk to me. I was hesitant at first, but I knew that I needed to face him and try to make things right.

When I arrived at Tom's apartment, Alen was sitting on the couch, staring at the floor. He looked up as I entered, his eyes red and puffy from crying.

"Alen, I'm so sorry," I said, tears welling up in my eyes. "I know I messed up, and I can never forgive myself for what I did to you."

Alen remained silent, his gaze fixed on the floor. I could tell he was hurt, but I didn't know how to make things right.

Suddenly, Tom spoke up. "Alisha, there's something you need to know," he said, his voice low and serious. "Alen didn't just come here to talk to you. He came to tell you something."

I looked at Tom, confused. "What are you talking about?"

Tom took a deep breath. "Alen and I were talking a few days ago, and he told me something that he's been keeping from you for a while. Something that he thinks you need to know."

My heart was racing as I waited for Tom to continue. What could Alen have been keeping from me?

"Alen told me that he's been cheating on you," Tom said, his voice barely above a whisper. "He's been seeing someone else for the past few months."

I felt as if I had been punched in the stomach. All this time, while I had been consumed with guilt and regret, Alen had been cheating on me?

I looked at Alen, tears streaming down my face. "Is this true?" I asked, my voice trembling.

Alen nodded, his eyes filled with shame. "I'm sorry, Alisha," he said. "I never meant to hurt you, but I couldn't help the way I felt."

I was numb with shock and disbelief. The man I loved, the man I had betrayed, had been cheating on me all along. It was a twist that I never saw coming.

As I left Tom's apartment, my mind was spinning. I didn't know what to do or how to feel. I had hurt Alen, but he had hurt me too. I realized that our relationship was over, that we were both too broken to fix what we had once had.

As I walked away, I knew that it was time for me to move on, to let go of the past and embrace a new future. It was a painful lesson, but one that I knew I needed to learn.
