"who are you and what did you do to my jeno?"

"stop making fun of me!" the korean male whined, hitting his boyfriend on the arm as renjun was – once again – imitating jeno taking advantage of his self-confidence to tell someone that would act a little too intimate with one of his boyfriends to fuck off. "it almost seems like you preferred me when i was powerless and unable to even say no to someone."

"i love you anyway, babe." renjun rolled his eyes, wrapping his arms around jeno's waist as the two males were cuddled on the couch of their shared apartment, waiting for jaemin to come back home after his outing with his hybrid friends. "but i have to admit that it's hot seeing you all powerful and everything." he added, wiggling his brows.

"shut up..." jeno tsked, playfully hitting his boyfriend again as he cuddled closer in his warm embrace.

the room fell in a comfortable silence, the two males enjoying the comfort of each other's arms surrounding them as their hearts beat in unison.

"i remember our first date..." renjun mumbled, making jeno whine slightly.

"god, don't remind me about it, i was so awkward..." the younger boy whined, recalling exactly how excited yet stressed he had been after deciding to meet up with a random guy he had met on grindr. if only he knew where this would bring him back then...

"if someone had told me at that time that i'd still be with you after years, i'd have laughed at their face." renjun continued. "and if they had even mentioned about a third person joing the two of us, i think i would have won world record for the longest laugh."

"i can't blame you." jeno replied simply. "i'd have laughed for long too if someone had told me i would have two boyfriends."

"why? you're quite a lot to handle, i guess being two to deal with you is not enough sometimes." the chinese male teased, making jeno growl again.

"fuck you!"

"not when jaemin could barge in at any moment, babe." renjun tickled jeno's sides. "i wouldn't want to ruin his innocence."

"that's why you have two boyfriends too. one whose innocence you ripped super early, and the second you're trying to preserve." jeno stated, making renjun chuckle lightly.

"yeah, we could say that."

jeno readjusted his position against renjun's body so that the two of them were now lying down on the couch, with jeno on top of renjun, his head resting on the boy's chest while the older male had one of his arms around his body and his second hand caressing jeno's hair.

"do you think we would have stayed forever together if we had never met jaemin?" jeno asked, his voice low and calm.

"yeah." renjun nodded. "why are you asking me this?"

"because... i think that everything happens for a reason." jeno explained. "and maybe that if we hadn't adopted jaemin, we wouldn't have lasted together. you know, there's this theory that says that after three years, couples are more likely to break up because the relationship becomes boring."

"mmh..." renjun hummed, letting his hand entangle with jeno's hair as he listened to his boyfriend speaking.

"and coincidently, jaemin appeared in our lives when we were about to have this exact period of our couple's life." jeno continued. "maybe that the gods above the clouds sent him to make sure we stayed together, because maybe that we are destined. and not only did he make us stay together, but he also got with us, which is the best thing that could happen to us to re-dynamize our relationship."
