A/N: I got the idea for this one from a tumblr post of AU ideas. It was something about "I'm your new neighbor and you really need to get some curtains". I kinda mixed it up but I had fun with it. I hope you guys like it too!

Dean's back ached as he dropped the last cardboard box in his empty living room. He'd just finished moving into a new house all the way across town. He'd had to leave his entire family behind, hardest to leave was his little brother Sammy who had just started school at Stanford. Dean only moved so he could open his own mechanic shop. His new house wasn't the nicest, but it's all he could afford. It was small; there was no upstairs, and there were only two bedrooms in case Sammy wanted to come stay for a bit.

Dean stretched his arms back and yawned, it had been a long day. He flopped down on the old patched up sofa and looked around at his new living room, in his new house, in this new town. There was a window on the wall opposite the couch, Dean hadn't paid it much attention when he toured the place with his realtor. Now it had Dean's attention, it seemed to open up to the house next door. Dean wondered why it was such an odd view. He stood up and walked closer to the window to get a better look.

Dean stood right in front of the window, and was startled to see a man with ruffled black hair jumping around in the house next door. Dean's window had a view directly into his neighbor's house. A strange neighbor too, it seemed. He was wearing a bright blue tank top and yellow shorts that were far too short for Dean's comfort, along with a matching yellow sweatband. The man next door was facing away from Dean, dancing and jumping around the room.

It must be a workout Dean thought as he watched his new neighbor. Suddenly, the man shot ten feet in the air with fright and Dean thought he had been spotted. Thankfully, the man hadn't seen Dean watching him. He had spotted a spider scurrying across the floor. The neighbor immediately started throwing things at the spider. Books and shoes flew across the room. Even a water bottle was flung across the floor as the man cowered behind a chair and burst open. Water spilled out of the bottle and droplets flew around the room. Each object thrown had missed the spider, but the man was still in his ridiculous outfit trembling in fear behind the little wooden chair.

Dean couldn't hold back anymore and burst out laughing. He doubled over from laughing so hard. Dean was leaning over trying to catch his breath when he heard shouting. He looked up to see the man standing with his window open. He was covered in sweat and didn't look very happy. Dean's laughter faded and he guiltily slid his window open.

"Hey!" the man shouted, "I guess you get your laughs from watching people minding their own private business, huh?!"

Dean shook his head quickly, "No! No I moved in today and I was just glancing out the window when I saw you jumping around in your short shorts so I got a little distracted! I wasn't being a creep I swear."

The man still looked angry, although slightly less, "So you saw me doing my Zumba and decided to watch? That still makes you a creep."

Dean shook his head meaningfully again, "I was curious, then you started freaking out over that little baby spider and come on that's pretty funny." Dean said, fighting the smile that pulled at his lips with the memory.

"Fine, whatever, stop laughing." The man looked more exasperated and embarrassed than angry at this point, "So you're the new neighbor I guess."

Dean nodded his head, "that's me."

The man shrugged, "My name's Castiel. You can call me Cas. I sure hope I like you better than the grouchy old woman who used to live here. She always gave me dirty looks, but she did have the sense to buy curtains for her window. I never worried about her watching me because she always kept them closed."

Dean was actually starting to like this guy strangely enough, "Well my name's Dean, and I'm not planning on buying any curtains if I get to watch Cas in booty shorts versus one baby spider every night." Dean chuckled.

Cas seemed to take Dean's joke lightly, he even smiled a bit. "Yeah, don't count on it."

Dean laughed, "Sorry I made such a bad first impression, Cas. I don't have any friends on this side of town, and I'd really like to get to know you better."

Cas actually smiled this time, "You know, I've always wondered what the inside of grumpy old lady's house looks like. If it doesn't seem too intrusive, I could help you unpack a bit."

Dean grinned at his cute new neighbor, "I'd really appreciate that, but I would definitely have to take you out to dinner afterwards."

The faintest traces of a blush appeared on Castiel's cheeks, "It's a date then, Dean." Cas glanced back at the mess of water behind him, "but I'll have to clean up first."

Dean nodded, "no worries."

Castiel glanced down at his outfit, "and I guess I should probably change, if you find these shorts so distracting" when he looked back up at Dean, his smile was almost a smirk.

Dean looked his attractive new neighbor straight in the eye, and matched his look with a suggestive one of his own, "don't you dare."
