After graduating from UCLA you had decided to take your time departing to Europe back to your home country, Spain. You had to pack everything in your suitcases and what didn't go in it, was gifted to your juniors or sold. So when the women's Euro was on their way you were still in the states. Like a day before the kick off of the Euro, you got a call from your mom telling you that your sister had been injured during training and wouldn't participate in the Euro. You knew she would be devastated so you booked an early flight to go support her, while you were waiting at the airport, your other sister told you that she needed surgery.
-Y/N, it's her ACL. She is in for 6 months, the docs said.
- Shit! Alba I am taking a flight to London right now. Are you there ?
- No. But if you need someone to pick you up ask Alexia's teammate maybe.
-No, it's okay I have someone there. I have to go, my flight is being called. Love you Albs.
-Love you too Y/N/N, see you soon.
Arriving in London, your girlfriend of a few years now came to take you up at the airport and brought you to the hospital. You had met Jessie at UCLA and had clicked almost instantly and had been friends for a while before you were forced by your teammates to make a move. They apparently had enough of the two of you obvious feelings for each other and your awkward flirting and status quo.
At the hospital you found Mapi who brought you to Alexia's room after teasing you about Jessie. Alexia was sleeping but apparently was gonna wake up soon since the anesthesia had worn off. You sat on the bed next to the bed and took out a book to wait, Mapi had gone back to the hotel, the team had a meeting and a game tomorrow.
-You ... I am dreaming ? I feel really bad, it doesn't feel like a dream at all.
- No, I am here. Hola hermana.
-Hola, can I have water please ? She said with a raspy voice. When did you get back ? Are you okay ? Do I need to kick someone's ass ?
- No, I flew in this morning, I am okay and you don't need to kick anyone's ass and definitely not Jessie's, you said the last part sternly to make sure your point was made. And I came back early for you. When is your flight back to Spain ?
- I want to watch the team's first game before going back to Spain and you, when is your flight back to Spain ? I suppose you want to spend a bit of time with your girlfriend ?
- I am taking the same flight as you to make sure you get back in one piece to Mom. And I am staying at Jessie's. She comes to take me at 6. I am with you the rest of the day.
She had an interview a couple hours after you left Alexia with Mapi and hid from the camera. You didn't dislike the attention, but you wanted to be known for yourself not for your sister. You didn't play with your family name on your back, you played with your mom's name, Segura. Everyone had understood in your family even if it took a bit of convincing, that you were not ashamed of your name and your sister quite the contrary in fact; you had always been a fan of Alexia. You were really proud of her and wanted nothing more than to one day play with her. Well now that she was injured it would take a while to even share a pitch with your sister.
You watched the game on TV. The stadium was packed and you didn't want to be seen with Alexia with the Spanish federation staff. Jessie watched with you it was a chill evening together (except for a few celebrations and shouts at the ref) and since she had gone to London these types of nights were rare.
An airport with a person with crutches it's a nightmare, well you already thought it was a nightmare alone and not injured, but this was hell. You got to Barcelona, you just wanted one thing: a shower and a bed to cry and sleep, well that's two. Okay, you didn't graduate in Maths, what do you want me to say?
