Warning: Slight Violence at the end.
Early in the morning, I woke up with my brother by my side with a worried look on his face. Before I could sit up, a wave of pain covered my body, letting out a groan signaling my brother that I was awake."Don't move is only going to make it worse than it is." My brother put his hand on top of mine. The sound of worry in my brother's voice. It took me back when we were kids, and our mother was sick. He attempted to hide it with a smile so I didn't have to worry. Unfortunately, his voice always gave him away.
"Where were you? Those two strange men had to bring you back bruised and unconscious?!" holding back his rage as he raced his sentence. I looked up, trying to replay the scene of what happened that night. I remember the Oni and leaving the building where the two demon slayers lived. Maybe my body caved and passed out due to exhaustion from my serious injuries.
I only groan in response to my vocals felt as if they were on fire. I only got a sigh in response from my brother as he saw the pain I was in, putting on his small smile back on his face to comfort me to tell me everything was alright. "You got us worried that you wouldn't wake up..." Uncomfortable silence filled the room as Vincent softly squeezed my hand as if I would break like glass if he squeezed too hard. "You've been in a coma for a week...the doctor told us it will be unlikely that you be able to survive your injuries, that we had to let you go. Even Undertaker thought it was the best way..." I hold his hand as he tries to find the words to tell me, what happened with a hum and a squeeze to tell him it's okay. He stared at me with tears running down his cheek he took a deep breath.
"I told them my decision was no, and your new friends agreed with me because they don't know my sister as well as me! They don't see how strong you are, how you're able to solve a puzzle in minutes, or how can fight with a sword that took down two men at once at fencing classes...but after a whole week I was worried but Kibutsuji would always assure me you'll wake up every night when he comes to visit you. And now, to see you open your eyes, it was like looking at a ghost." Tears roll down his cheek with each word with every sniff. I could only hold his hand to comfort him. This man known for inhumane punishment of his victims as the Queen's guard dog, broke at the sight of his little sister in pain as he was back to being a child by his mother's side as she slowly passed.
Slowly the awkward silence became enjoyable chatter and the pen scribbled using a piece of paper unable to respond due to the pain. It wasn't long until my first two visitors came to see me which was Yukio holding a small rose and Tengen. When they noticed I was awake they rushed towards me with smiles on their faces. During their visit, Tengen Complimented my healing and my family home while Yukio chatted about what happened that night and more about breathing techniques that could help me recover faster. Giving the news that they would be helping me recover in the afternoon until I fully recover.
They left to go on with their day leaving me alone with my thoughts racing with questions. What is Oni's? What are they doing here? Who are Tengen and Yukio looking for? Are there more like them? I looked out my window to stare as the sun sets. Maybe I should leave it be for now, I should focus on getting better and stronger so if I meet one of those Oni's in Japan I could able to fight it of or escape much more easily. ' I wonder I the process went with the Japanese Factory building and hiring I should speak to Vincent about that when I get better, I don't him to worry about me and the business at the same time. ' I let my thoughts roam free until a knock brought me back to the present. I hum in response to hearing someone enter the room, I force myself to sit up to greet the person who came to see me luckily the painkillers Vincent gave me make it easier to move around. I looked up making eye contact with the Crimson eyes of the man I was forced to marry. He observe me giving a smile that send a shiver down my spine, he was up to something and it wasn't something good. "My lady Phantomhive, I heard you finally awake, I had to see it for myself." his voice was unbothered like he didn't care for my current condition.
I only glared at him, his smile grew bigger. "To say that I miss your voice would be a lie, but seeing you weak well it hurts me. I won't lie I thought you were a sweet perfect little angel who would follow her brother's order but instead, I got a woman with an elegance of a swan and a fighting spirit this makes you even more perfect...To be my bride. So when I heard what happened to you let's say I helped with the healing process." his voice scared me as he walked to my table at the corner of the room pulling out a vile out of his bag.
The lightly dimmed candle aid me to see what was happening at the table as he bite down on the tip of his finger making him bleed. Question rushed in my mind making me panic at the sight of his blood going into the vile like a small stream, but how?! It wasn't a deep bite how could he get so much blood from a small wound? In the corner of his eye, he looked at me with a sinister smile wiping the blood off his finger and bringing the vile close to my lips. "This will help you heal faster nothing more, reducing the intake of my blood by mixing some chemicals will help have a painless healing process but the intake of my blood is torture fortunately the pain is so severe that you even forget what happened tonight so I suggest that you no make this harder for yourself." He grabbed a fist full of my hair pulling my head back to give him the advantage to pour the vile into my mouth feeling my body running like I was put on a stake from my head to my toes. Muzan sat on my bed pulling me close to him holding me close playing with my hair and humming trying to calm me down to make sure I won't move around a lot. It took around 5 min for the pain to go down, Muzan hold me close as I close my eyes the last thing I heard before I fell asleep was Muzan whispering "Lay all your love on me."
