First Day of School

Another new school, I'm pretty used to it but I'm kind of getting tired of switching schools. My adopted parents are the only ones who know about me, I am a genetically engineered girl. I was made in a lab and the people who made it are after me. They have been after me for 14 years now, my parents were tricked, they were told that I wouldn't live past a year or two because I carried a genetic disease which was present on the autosomal chromosomes, there was no genetic disease they wanted to create a superhuman. They have succeeded because I'm stronger than everyone, I can heal faster than everyone, I can see better than everyone. It's not a normal strength or a normal rate or healing nor was it a normal vision, it was supreme, exceeding the best of the best. I could see clearly for more than a mile, I could take down anything and the biggest wound takes less than a minute to heal. I don't go advertising though, in fact no one knows about my powers except my parents and me.

I quickly checked out my outfit in the mirror; I was wearing a baby blue crop top with black ripped jeans and converse and got into my car. The ride there was silent.

"Please try to lie low at least this time" My mom whispers. I laugh at that.

"Ok mom" and then I quickly get out of the car, I didn't want to be late. I yell bye to my mom and hurry inside. I went to the main office, since it was right next to the door.

"Hello, I'm Samantha... I just joined; they told me to come to the main office?" I said.

"Ahh yes, hello Samantha, here's your schedule... lemme check if I can get you someone to show you around" The lady behind the front desk said.

"Oh no, that's alright, I think I can find my way, thank you though" I say taking my schedule.

"Are you sure?

"Yes, thank you" I say back.

"Alright then have a great first day" she exclaimed.

"Thank you, you as well," I yelled back.

I took a picture of my schedule and decided to head straight to class because I was already late for homeroom but decided against it. I walked around following the signs which were hella confusing. I finally made it to my homeroom after circling the second floor twice. I was only 5 minutes late. It shouldn't be such a big deal.

"Good morning, I'm a new student, my name is Samantha..." I said to Mr. Richards, who is my homeroom teacher.

"Good morning, Samantha, you can go sit next to Sean". As Mr. Richards said, a boy with dirty blonde hair and a red sweatshirt pulled out the chair next to him and I got to sit down. I push my waist-length brown hair behind me and place my backpack on the floor.

"Hey, I'm Sean"

"Hello, I'm Samantha"

"How are you liking the school so far Sam?"

"Sam?" I scoff, "It's pretty cool so far."

"Sam's a cool name, and I think it suits you. That's good, what class do you have?"

I pull out my phone and check my schedule, " I have a bio first, what about you?" I asked Sean.

"I have algebra."

"Ouch" Sean just scoffs. Right then the bell rang and everyone got up to go to their next class. I had to go to room 237, and I was in 240 so I thought it would be pretty easy. I walked out of the class and turned right and ended up finding my bio class perfectly fine. Wow that was a first. I walk in and go to the teacher.

"Hello, I'm Samantha, I just joined..."

"Hello, I'm Mr. Kurtz, you can go sit at the last table on the right." Wow that was precise, for a table that no one was sitting at.

"Okay, thank you". I exclaimed. There were already a few people here and I could feel their eyes on me. Well, I was the new girl anyways. I go the table Mr. Kurtz told me to sit at and sit down placing my backpack down and pull out my Chromebook and start booting it up.
