It was late in the afternoon, night was going to fall soon. Jiang Cheng(now a Lan) was preparing for dinner, he cut vegetables, washed rice, and prepared some meat. Tonight he was going to make some special food! His husband was coming home from a long trip, his husband had to go to the United States to have a meeting about the LAN company, the company his husband's family has owned. His husband has been in the US for 2 months. So Jiang Cheng was very pleased his husband would be coming home, he has been alone for way to long. 

After Cooking and finishing a whole meal for his husband, he decided to wait and feed his cat. While waiting their was a knock on the door, he hoped it was his husband and ran to the door as fast as he can. Their was great smile on Jiang Cheng's face something rare. He opened the door to see his Dear Beloved older brother. (WWX)

"A-cheng, theirs some bad news....."

After hearing those words, the smile on Jiang Cheng's face became gloomy and filled with dark aura, "let me guess, their doing something that will make them late....Again" Jiang Cheng asked his brother while letting him in the house. Wei Wuxian gave the man a simple nod. 

"Uncle Lan Qiren, is having dinner with them today and their flight is being delayed" 

It broke his heart how this happens every year, he only gets to see his husband a little bit since his husband works at a big company here in China. Lan Xichen is their heir of the big company so he goes to work a lot and travels. "I guess their celebrating again, Congrats to them". Wei Wuxian's husband is the brother of Lan Xichen so he joins in the companies activities and stuff to, but at least he gets to see him a lot. Sometimes when Jiang Cheng is alone he would play with his cat, that's why he got a cat. he's been too alone, he gets excited knowing his husband comes home though he always seems to forget that their would always be delays from his uncle or one of the elders of the company.  

2 hours later

It had been two hours and wei wuxian was just about to leave when he got a message from the contact LZ<3, wei wuxian checked out the message and it had said...

LZ<3- "We just finished dinner with uncle we will be coming home soon" 

Wei Wuxian told his younger brother, but Jiang Cheng wasn't surprised, he wasn't happy still, but he was glad his husband was coming home again. Just the food he made were already cold, jiang cheng always surprises his husband with his best cookings when he gets home, when they were newlyweds, Jiang Cheng would always make food and do stuff to make his husband happy when he got home from work or from travels. His husband would always be on time or early but now they're just more far apart now what Jiang Cheng would always say. 'That's just how lovers are I guess.... soon it'll be over I'll just be alone as always' Jiang Cheng thought this always. 

'Am I good enough for him? He's handsome, charming, has a great personality, he can get along with many people, and he's super-duper nice. I'm just the opposite is that why he's been more far apart?' Jiang Cheng's mind was always overloaded with these questions. Lan Xichen being home late wasn't the only thing that made Jiang Cheng sad, their were other stuff too, like how they would never see each other early in the morning, Jiang Cheng would always wake up early, but Lan Xichen would always rush. Lan Xichen wouldn't even text him, say I love you, hug him, he wouldn't show any affections towards him unless it was important. But Jiang Cheng understood he's married to a busy man so of course he would be doing this. 

Wei Wuxian said goodbye to his younger brother and left. Jiang Cheng closed the door after seeing him off. Jiang Cheng let out a sigh and started cleaning the table after he ate with Wei Wuxian. 

After cleaning jiang Cheng was super tired so he turned off all the lights and headed to his bedroom upstairs. He got into his pajamas and prepared the bed, he read a book trying to make him sleep. After some time he eventually doze off and went to sleep. 

1 hour later

while JC was asleep Lan Xichen had arrived, it was 8pm it was a bit to early for his dear loved to be sleeping but their was no noise. So he assumed he must have been tired and fell asleep already. He saw the clean house, the sleeping cat, and a Plate on the table with plastic wrapper with a note, the note had the name "Lan Xichen" written on it. He read the note that was on the table....

'Welcome back/home Xichen, 
 Wei Wuxian had told me you would be coming back late and the food was getting cold so I saved some food I cooked. Hope you like them, theirs some Flan inside the fridge and I'm happy your back.

Reading this made Lan Xichen happy but sad that he couldn't arrive early, again, Xichen knows how his loved one feels, but he can't disobey his uncle, his late mother taught him that he must have manners and respect. Plus, his family has had the company for a long time he will work hard to keep something sacred in their family. 

Lan Xichen ate the food his lover made; he was super pleased with the food his loved one made. Coming home with cooking made from someone you love is the best. The feeling is always great! 

Lan Xichen went upstairs to his room, to unpack his stuff until he saw his loved one sleeping uncomfortably on their bed. Lan Xichen put his stuff down and walked to his lover and pecked his forehead, he put the blanket on his lover and grabbed the book. "I'm sorry.....soon love soon..." Lan Xichen whispered into his lover's ears.
