Ch. 2: The Invite

*Next Day*
Matt's POV

"OH MY GOSH! MATT, CHRIS GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!" I heard Nic yell from the living room. I roll my eyes at how loud and dramatic he was. It was probably just some spider again. I walk to the living room as Chris comes up from his room.

We both make a face and go to the living room where Nick is looking at three closed envelopes as the rest of the mail had fallen to the ground.

"What is it Nic," Chris said as he picked up the rest of the mail and put it on the coffee table. Nic was dead silent and just handed Chris and I an envelope that said our names. We all opened them and the First thing we saw was "MET GALA" in big letters at the top of the paper.

We take the paper out all the way and Nic reads out loud what the papers all say, "dear Mr. Nicolas Sturniolo, we cordially invite you to the 2023 Vogue Met Gala. This event will be organized at The Metropolitan of Art Costume Institute. It will be held on May 1, 2023. You may bring a plus one of your choice and we will be so glad if you are able to make it. Sincerely Co-chair, Anna Wintour," he sped the last part out and we all looked between each other with extremely wide eyes.

"Were we just invited to the Met Gala?" I said as both of my brothers nod in sync with the other.

"Wait but I'm so confused, I thought the invites went out two weeks ago?" Chris said scratching his head and looking the letter over and over again.

I shrug and set the paper on the table. "Do you guys know who your gonna bring?"

Chris nods and smiles, "yeah I'm gonna see if Tril wants to go with me, which he probably will."

"I don't know whether to take Malcolm or Madi," Nic said scratching his head and then looking between me and Chris, "do you know who your going to bring Matt?"

I shake my head and go on my phone as I try to look for a reason on why we got these invites. I couldn't find anything on Instagram or google so I go straight to TikTok because everything is on TikTok.

After scrolling through my For You Page I get to a video and it's about the Lorelei, an actress/ YouTuber, on the James cordon show. I watch the video a few times not really paying attention to what she was saying.

I look at the caption and it says 'looks like it might be a Sturniolo Met instead of a Kardashian Met.' As soon as I read that I turned the volume up and actually listens to the words being said.

By this time everyone was in different parts of our home so I call them all back to the living room. "GUYS I THINK I FOUND OUT WHY OR HOW WE GOT INVITED!" Both of my brothers came rushing in asking a lot of questions.

Instead of telling them I just turn my phone around and restart the video. They watched as the replayed multiple times.

"Wait why would she give us her invite, I mean we've never even met her?" Chris says.

I shrug and say, "I don't know but I might DM her and ask. Plus if she gave us her invite I might see if she wants to be my date." I get back on my phone ignoring the looks I'm receiving from my brothers. I find her Instagram and see she was already following me so I followed her back and texted her.

and I had went last year so
I kinda told them to just give
y'all my invite

because I'm sorry if you didn't
want to go.  

Oh no we just
didn't know how we got
invites and my brother
Nic is kind of freaking out rn

invites but I was wanting to
know if you were still able to go

No I'm not allowed to go
anymore since I gave you all
my invite and Anna said
that I was still allowed to
go but I would have had to
be someone's plus one

Well since you gave me
your invite it's only fair that
I ask if you would like to be
my date to this event

Ntm you have already been
to one of these so you would
somewhat know what to do

It's okay if you don't
wanna go though like I
would understand.

Wait you wanna take
me to the Met?

Yeah if you wanna go
but I do say that if you
agree then we would have
to hang out sometime
before the Met because it
would be kind of weird if we
went as complete strangers.

Since the Met is in
3 weeks I say that
gives us a good enough
time period to actually
hang out and get to know
each other. And I would
definitely like to meet
your brothers.

Wait so you'll go?

Yup

I stood up from my spot on the couch and pumped my fists in the air and screamed, "I have a date to the Met!" Both Nic and Chris looked at me weirdly and then caught on.

"Wait your going to the Met Gala with THE Lorelei Ataya Martinez, like America's Princess that can do literally anything she wants and anything she tries to?" Chris said probably confused on how I managed to do it.

I nod and smile as I look back at my phone and text her back to start planning the first meeting.
