"Hi my name is Carrie," I said through my eyelashes, it was a luscious day in the middle of April and it was 75 degrees in my hometown of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. We were standing in the entrance way of Newton High School. He was looking right at me and I had no idea what to do. We just moved back from Indianapolis, Indiana where my father had gotten a job as a surgeon, but since my parents had just gotten divorced my mother decided she wanted to get as far away as she could rom that cheating prick, and to be completely honest I didn't blame her. When I looked back up from the sidewalk he was still just standing there and staring. I had no idea what to do, so I just stared right back at him. I'm not one of those girls to blush and get nervous when guys looked at me, not to be conceited but I was honestly used to it by now. I mean I'm not a model but I'm not ugly either. I have long wavy blonde hair and bright blue eyes and a full set of lips, but I haven't had my first kiss yet either. So I mean I was the average blonde, except I was anything but girlie, so I just kept staring right back at him as to challenge him. I could tell that he wasn't about to give up with the little game we were playing, and frankly neither was I.

Finally after about a full 60 seconds of staring at each other he finally said, "My name is Jake." He looked to be about a year or two older then me, but he was OMG! GORGEOUS!! He had dark black hair, that was spiked up in the front, and he had glasses but not the ones that those geeky kids wear. Then I realized he was talking again, but I only caught the end of his sentence, "... Come from?"

I stared blankly at his face, then I realized how much of a dumb blonde he probably thought I was. "Ummm... I'm really sorry I kinda just blanked out there, what were you saying?" He looked at me and just kinda giggled a sexy nervous smile that only some guys could pull off, then said, "I was asking, where you're from." "Oh," I said, "Well Im originally from here but we moved to Indianapolis a few years ago, but then moved back." "Why" "Why what?"

"Why did you come back here?" "Well it's complicated but in the most simplistic way my son of a bitch father cheated on my mom with his slutty medical assistant." "Oh, sorry to cut this short but we are going to be late, who do you have for first period" he said. It was my first day at Newton and it was the middle of the second semester. "I have Mr. Smith for Geometry" I was an over acheiver to say the least. Geometry is a 10th grade class, and I'm only in 9th grade. "Same!" He said, "But what grade are you in because you don't look lIke you're in 10th grade, no offense." "I'm in 9th grade." "oh cool," he said, "Well we should probably be going." Then he winked at me and we started walking down the hall towards class.
